I'm going to be the lone voice in the wilderness, and defend (sort of) Brint and Tampa. We had perfectly valid reasons for buying out NDSU. As a season ticket holder, I would be pissed if we ever had fewer than six home games in a season, so for me, that alone was sufficient justification for making that decision. I would hope that BW and TG can appreciate the rationale for the buyout just as much as we do, even if they don't want to admit it on this board. That being said, I don't believe they would have said a word about it, if some MSU fans hadn't been talking a little bit of smack about UM being dominated by NDSU, despite the relatively close final score. That appears to be an accurate assessment, based upon the stats, but I can understand why a UM fan might interpret it as sort of "smack light". I can fully understand though, why UM fans would respond by saying "well at least we played them", even if they really do understand the reasons why we bought out that game. I know perfectly well that many MSU fans would have responded in a similar manner, if the roles had been reversed.

I hate the Griz as much as anyone. I never cheer for them, and they are the only BSC team that I don't cheer for in non-conference games. However I do try to be somewhat objective about these sorts of things. Now can we all please move on? I hate it when what could be a good thread gets derailed by stupid Cat-Griz smack.

Totally agree with that post. Cat fans should not be making fun of the Griz for getting beat by NDSU. Also agree about the poetic justice watching Griz fans complain about NDSU fan cockiness.

I agree with you completely on that part. It's good to see UM fans getting a taste of their own medicine.

I asked the same question the other day. but i've learned a lot in this thread so far. here's what I've come up with....

i was a cat fan who was mad we bought out the game with ndsu although i understood why they did it. it was for selfish reasons as i already had my trip planned. that said...i was against the move so if i'm correct i can say whatever i want about the griz and ndsu...

although i'm at liberty to say whatever crap i want about this game due to the fact that i was a cat fan upset with the buyout i refrained from smack talk. i did however chime in that i thought the griz would lose this game. again...as a fan upset with the buyout, i was completely within my right to suggest the griz would lose this game.

keep in mind i wasn't talking trash about the griz, or making fun of them for playing the bison. that would be weird. i was guessing they might lose as i think the bison are better. and again...i'm within my right because i was mad about the buyout. had a been a fan happy with the buyout of the ndsu game...no way i'd be within my rights to suggest the griz lose this game.

finally, and this is going to blow some of your minds. i was smart enough to put $100 on the griz covering this spread. had i been really smart i'd have bet $1000. i'm not sure what my rights are in terms of betting on the griz in when i was a cat fan upset with the buyout but i have a feeling i'll learn about it soon.
