Seriously, are my posts invisible if they aren't formed in a way to piss people off?

Perhaps it's not my place, nor my right, to chastise any moderator of this board but the hair-triggered rebuke for what seemed to be an honest question is uncharacteristic of any of you.
As I will say for the third time now, the difference of opinion here is that given past history and context with Swilly I
did not see his comment as an honest question. Perhaps I was wrong, perhaps I wasn't, but will you concede that if it were to have been a smartass comment as I thought it was that it really wasn't that "uncharacteristic?"

What a waste, to have worked so hard to create something that so many might enjoy, then diminish your efforts (and eventually your membership?) by making some of your members feel unwelcome. I understand your problem with hacks like bearbac but Swilly is relatively harmless.....annoying perhaps - but harmless.
No Swilly is not on the level of BearBAC but, as you even admit, he can be annoying. The problem comes in that his propensity for being annoying (seemingly on purpose) usually causes people to then go off to topic to rather discuss Swilly being annoying rather than the topic. That is what I was trying to avoid in this topic--see how well it worked.

Swilly has made himself infamous (more than famous

) for his one-line jabs. You build yourself a reputation, be prepared to get some flak when you try and be serious (if he indeed was), especially when he phrases the question in the same context he phrases most of his jabs.
While I think the mods may have come down a bit hard in this case (it was just a mild litle comment, smack or not), Swilly's reputation preceeds him.

Not invisible...I just type slow (so I missed a few interim posts).

No. While I've not read every thread on this board, of the ones I have, you usually appear slower to anger. Comment stands.

I didn't know there was another topic

Fair enough, I probably am in most other cases. My patience with Swilly has worn pretty thin so I was probably a little more short tempered with him than I would be otherwise. Now have we all sufficiently hashed this out and beat it to death so we can kiss and make up?

Who's Jimmy?

Who's Jimmy?
Jimmy would be the arch-nemesis of Timmy, the retarded kid on South Park. Jimmy has an MS-like disability and uses comedy as an outlet to deal with his disability.
What a great crowd!
South Park is an entertaining, animated comedy that takes on numerous social issues with acerbic wit.
I just felt a need to clarify exactly who Jimmy is since this thread seemed to be getting off topic.

UM is the university equivalent of Axe Body Spray and essential oils.

So is S(lim)willy Timmy? Sorry, I don't watch South Park.

I didnt realize I was such a BN celeb....
Seriously though, I think you guys all drug this whole topic alittle too far. Whether I was being a pain in the ass or not, it wasnt worth 3 pages of monotonous banter. I realize I act like a 2nd grader most of the time on this board, but as you all know, and remind me on a daily basis, I am not too far from being a 2nd grader....
What would BN (or the world) be like without Swill?
Hope you guys have a good imagination!
PS: Moderators, I think you should take more of a Chris like approach to your message board and back up alittle on filtering through smack and such. It would make everything alot less complicated and make your job a lot easier.

some kids are told never to touch the stove,"you'll get burned"...and they don't.
Some kids are told never to touch the stove, and they do it anyway....once.
Some kids are told never to touch the stove, and unable to comprehend the consequences of their actions, they continually touch the stove....and are repeatedly burned (until they get institutionalized).
What kind of kid are you Swilly?
Here's a novel idea.
When the temperature drops below freezing, stick your tongue on a metal pipe. It won't hurt.....honest.

By "those" you obviously mean a curious indiviual that thinks for himself rather than have somebody else run his life for him.
Right?
