Is that expansion to make room for all of the swollen heads or is it actually for legitimate bodies?

I have to agree with this. As someone who has spent years apprehensively tailgating at Griz games, I finally had the unique pleasure to literally "tailgate" at a University of Oregon game last weekend as they played UCLA. I was able to secure a tailgate parking spot off of Craigslist for $35 ($800 donation a year to get a season's worth of tickets, but someone is usually selling, as I found), and we rolled into the lot around 9am for a 12:30 kick-off. Another MSU grad and myself popped open the tailgate in between hundreds of other vehicles. We brought the 'Slingbox', so the Minnesota/Wisconsin game live brought people over for meet and greets. Fire up the grill, and it's bratwurst time, and we still have an hour and a half until kickoff.

An incredible time tailgating, and we didn't even have to buy our beers from a corporate tent. Plus, we were literally 150 yards from the Autzen gates, so the halftime tailgate was even more fun.

UM tailgaiting will never be seen the same by me. Unfortunately, I rarely get back to Bozeman, and never in football season, so I'll still have to wait in judging that atmosphere now that I'm out of school.

"Tailgating the stuff of legend."

You can't be serious, Swilly. I was in Austin a few weeks ago for the UT-ISU game. Prior to attending MSU, I went to U of AZ (my freshman dorm was next to the stadium).

At no time was tailgating in Missoula even whispered in Tucson or Austin. The programs Rachac mentions are simply going through down phases. Colorado? You think tailgating in Missoula's better than a Big 12 school that has won a national championship?
Yep because Minnesota has always been known for how loud the metradome can be, and how amazing their gameday atmosphere is...

I will agree tho, its compared to the big time....But it does kick MSU's ASS. Anything else in that article that a Cat would disagree with? Without saying "bandwagon" or anything stupid or moronic like that
Its funny that griz fans need to resort to the "our tailgates are better than yours so there!" attitude. When you can't beat us on the field you have to find something else to be proud of, right? Griz fans always say the Cats have "griz envy." Personally I think writing an article about Wa Griz and then feeling the need to make a point about MSU would be Cat envy at its finest. Bottom line is that we have the trophy. As soon as you beat us you may resume talking S**T but I dont see it happening anytime soon.

I have to agree with you about the tailgating at UO...it exceeds all expectations. MSU's is similar in terms of how the tailgating is done, but obviously, there are slightly fewer attendees at MSU.

Smack it up all you want. Doesn't change the fact that UM can and soon will sell 28,000-30,000 seats for every home game. Expansion will take place (between 4,000 to 6,000 seats depending on cost estimates) on the East side of the stadium. There will also be new boxes added as aell as improvements to the existing boxes. Bids will be accepted soon.

And by the way, I admit that I have a big head. It's jam packed full of wins.

Well, yes, there HAVE been a lot since those years certainly. In fact, there is even this team that we beat 17 straight times during that period. That takes up a LOT of space in there.

Wow. Bandwagon Fan doesn't even know the real number. Oh well. 16 was pretty impressive. Real fans know this though.

My thoughts? "Griz in Washington" doesn't know the Griz once wore Copper and Gold unis.

Wow! That's certainly a lot of space to take up, those "17" wins and all.

Ohhh, I'm sorry papa. GrizinWashington actually attended UM while the unis were copper, silver and gold (although, in honesty, were they ever really ANY of those colors??). But we do have some nice parting gifts for you. :D

And 16, 17. Who's counting?

You're kidding right? As soon as the articles about WGS popped up all Cat fans could talk about was "yeah well we tailgate better."

No. I am not kidding. We DOMINATED you last year so the only thing you have right now is facilities smack. You can have Wa Griz and your claim that it is the best college gameday experience on the planet all day long. I'd rather be able to say we kicked the snot out of you on the field.

As for tailgating, regardless of where it is at, tailgating is always best when GRIZ/CATS or CATS/GRIZ get together. As for the remark on beating us, congrats on 3 of the last 4. I guess the previous 16 meant nothing. While you have been enjoying that trophy we have enjoyed playing into december. Just the facts!

So how many weeks did they take off between Cat/griz and the loss to Cal Poly? I thought it was the next week which would have been in November still.

Ohhh, I'd stay away from the Cal Poly smack if I were you: Poly beat UCD. UCD beat MSU. At Home. By 45. In a shutout. Can't see how that's doing much for ya.
