I am so sick of idiotic friz fans. Look. Here is the deal. We beat you three out of the last four years which means our program is on the rise while the griz are declining. Say what you want about your past tradition, it wont change the fact that you do not dominate in the BSC any longer. Get used to it because things are not changing and the sooner you come to grips with that, the sooner you can move on to a new team. Here is the way your season will pan out. Swogger will go down in the first quarter vs. Iowa and without a competent back up (Im not sure Swogger is competent himself) chaos will rain down on griz fans everywhere as your team goes on to a 4-7 record. The griz were on the verge of imploding last year and if it were not for the defense they would have. This is the year it will all come together for the griz (in terms of falling apart).Griz Dude wrote:Looks like I touched a nerve with my truthful and revealiong post, much like I knew I would. Yes, BCS voters know the difference between the two schools. However, if you believe otherwise, to console yourselves, go for it.

Wow, this is the first year a cat fan has predicted we would go 4-7. We must have really fallen. No, wait, some cat fans were predicting we would go 4-7 last year ....., and the year before. Where did these cat bandwagon fans come from?MM7CAT wrote:I am so sick of idiotic friz fans. Look. Here is the deal. I will admit that the Griz are not the dominating force under Bobby Hauck that they were under previous coaches. Yes, the program has slipped, due to coaching. However, that still does not negate the fact that we have built a tradition of competing for national championships that the Cats may only dream about.
Both the Big Sky coaches, as well as the media, once again predict that the Griz will dominate the Big Sky. If they do not do so, I would think that Hauck will have no where to hide. As a Cat fan, you had better hope that Hauck has a good season. Because, if he really does have a losing season, he will be history. You do not want that, because almost any average coach can bring the Griz back to dominance once again. I think you understand that fact, in the depths of your gut.

I understand why you feel that way. Most Griz fans I know are dissatisfied with Hauck and his staff. He has removed the fun from Grizzly football since his arrival.
A couple of us Griz fans were imbibing last week at a local watering hole, and discussing the Griz. It was the concensus in that group that Hauck will be gone if he loses to the Cats this season, or if he loses in the first round of the playoffs this year. We were wondering if it would be worth it to endure the pain of losing to the Cats in order to get rid of Hauck. It was close, but we agreed that we could never accept losing to the Cats, under any condition!

Really, this is what the two of you thought. Are you a GSA member? Are you a GSA board member? Are you active in GSA? The vast majority of the people I talk to are happy with Hauck's direction. While I love to beat the cats, we have bigger fish to fry. It might have been the most important game of the year for the cats, but it surely has not been for us!Griz Dude wrote:I understand why you feel that way. EastCoast you guys need to get off this one game deal. I sick of hearing it is the only game for the Cats. At that point in the season it was because we were pretty much out of the playoff running last year. But I guarantee you we were not thinking about the Griz when we played Eastern Washington. Maybe it should have been the Griz most important game because the butt kicking you took had a toll. It dragged any momentum you had and directly led to the pummeling that Cal Poly laid on you in the playoffs.

EastCoastGriz, so, being a GAA member gives one the right to speak for all Griz fans? How many GAA members are there, 500 or so? Out of tens of thousands of Griz fans. Right on, brother. Your answer is typical of a small group of self serving Griz fans who throw money at the program to be able to tell everybody that the know the coaches personally from the jock sniffing which goes on at those GAA meetings.
I speak for the average Joe Griz fan, who owns season tickets, supports the team, and even travels to away games occasionally. Many of us are not happy at all with the direction of this program. We have lost 3 of the last four to the Cats, we have lost 2 of the last 3 home playoff games, and our offense puts us to sleep. The Griz are no longer the dominating force in IAA football. Who else is to blame besides the coaches?
Isn't it ironic that the Cat fans are hoping and praying that Hauck and his staff stick around? Do you 'spose that they know something fans like you don't get? Do you 'SPOSE?

Griz run? I wonder if Iowa watched the last 2 Griz games...BR GRIZ wrote:Its all about money. The Griz run permits Iowa to market this as a competitive game, with all the benefits that come from that, whether or not the game turns out to be so. Iowa anticipates they will make more money to pay the Griz than paying less to most other 1-AA teams. This may have been a Seller's market, but I'm sure several 1-AA teams would have bought out a scheduled game, for example, if Iowa would have offered them $450,000. This is what the Griz did in 2005 with Oregon.

A question has come to mind as I read the back and forth about the Cats only caring about one game and the Griz looking forward to bigger things and the Cat/Griz does not really mean anything to them. HAVE THE GRIZ EVER WON A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP IN A YEAR THEY LOST TO THE CATS? This is a serious question as I do not know. But I believe that if they have not then maybe it should mean more to them than they claim.

You're family doesn't love you, and they didn't invite you to Thanksgiving dinner, so you are being forced to spend the holiday alone in Missoula in a per-hour hotel near the interstate with a lady of the night?
Man, I read about something like that in a short story once ... depressing stuff.
