Nothing like being in the stands with 40K to 50K of youse guys. Even the pretty, young teenage girls with ponytails hanging out of the back of their Yankee caps can be nasty. I must admit it's fun to watch A-Rod pop out with men on base and get boo'd back to the dugout. Yankee fans are equal opportunity boo-birds. The thing is everyone sitting in that stadium, especially the teen age girls, really understand the game. There is so much to do in New York that you could go broke entertaining yourself. So people tend to be selective when spending their entertainment dollars. Nearly every local coming into Yankee Stadium is a huge Yankee fan otherwise they'd be spending their money on something else.
PS They still don't match up to Oakland Raider fans for creating terror in the hearts of fans of the visiting team!
It was all good until the last sentence. I think I'm gonna retch now..
Never been there for a game, but a Raiders fan since Lamonica.

BTW, Cooper & Gatewood are both on the Raiders roll.
I know. Poor lost souls... *sigh*

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

Yeah, I'm a 3rd generation Yankee fan going back to my grandfather who grew up in Hell's Kitchen. He got to grow up idolizing Ruth and Gehrig, my dad grew up idolizing DiMaggio, Mantle, & Berra, and I grew up idolizing Guidry, Nettles, Mattingly, & now Jeter (I know, I got the short end of it, but Jeter is making up for the rest). It's all Yankees in my family and you better know the game, you better know the team, or youse is gonna find youself in a messa truble, if youse know whata mean! While I personally didn't grow up in NY, I have seen da Yanks in several venues including "The Stadium." In the words of the famous philosopher , former Mayor Rudi Giuliani, "GO YANKEES!"
