Re: Griz pull a scholarship from 3 star DT
I don't know what happened. None of us do. There is one side out there and there are 2 versions of it. UM is prohibited from commenting about a recruit. Looks bad if you go by one version. Doesn't look bad if you look at the other version. We don't know Stitt's version. I am withholding comment and judgement until things are further known. The egriz spin is to question the coach and the kid. The bobcatnation spin is to question UM recruiting. Truth is most likely somewhere in the middle.

Unfortunate that things fall between the cracks when there are major changes (i.e., coaching changes) and have such a direct and negative impact on people - that much of the stories are true. However, wouldn't you expect something to happen when there are broad sweeping changes in leadership and direction? I suspect that had Stitt recruited him initially (or any other coach for that matter), then there would have been more communication regardless of the outcome. I can see the same mistake happening anytime their is a coaching change while recruitment is happening.grizatwork wrote:I don't know what happened. None of us do. Also - love how griz fans make such broad generalizations about Cat fans (i.e., "The bobcatnation spin is to question UM recruiting.")

Is that any different than cat bracket's generalization about egriz? It was a generalization to make a point. My apologies if I offended you. I also bristle with generalizations and I should have worded it differently.MSU Toddler wrote:Unfortunate that things fall between the cracks when there are major changes (i.e., coaching changes) and have such a direct and negative impact on people - that much of the stories are true. Not offended - just pointing out the stupidity of generalizing and now the justification for doing so. Does anyone know if we are even talking with this kid? This would be huge for us, but if UCLA is on his lost and his brother plays there already, do we have any chance of him even giving us a look?

If that isn' t the definition of irony, I don't know what is. You have done nothing by attempt to belittle me since I weighed in on this thread. My original post spoke about the tendencies of both fan bases in general to see the worst in the other. I apologized for my generalization, yet you continued to belittle me. You must have found your pride because you are very good at belittling people.MSU Toddler wrote:Nope - only to idiots who find their pride in attempting to belittle others...grizatwork wrote:I was genuinely apologizing to you. You obviously have some preconceived notion about me that you can't get over. You win. I will defer to you and bow out of this thread.

grizatwork has always been a VERY fair poster on here. I think it makes sense to give him the benefit of the doubt ... especially when he apologizes.

Well that seems uncalled for. GAW is a pretty cool dude. While he might lack judgement on choice of education, I think he's pretty smart and generally respectful.MSU Toddler wrote:Nope - only to idiots who find their pride in attempting to belittle others...grizatwork wrote:I was genuinely apologizing to you. GAW is an internet good guy. UM has had enough problems the past few years. No need to pile on. Good natured ribbing is one thing, but when you're go by through what they have its a little harsh to beat them up every chance you get.LongTimeCatFan wrote:Well that seems uncalled for. Cat Bracket is as biased about MSU and PR is about UM, maybe more so. I know you weren't, but it's really just not fair to act like he's the majority of Cat fans.grizatwork wrote:Is that any different than cat bracket's generalization about egriz? Some people are just thin skinned. Shrug it off. Its a silly message board about sports. People tend to disagree about almost everything. You have to admit some of the worst comments that have been posted here were by Cat fans during and after the game with us this year. The appolgy was sincere. It takes a man to do that.

Re: Griz pull a scholarship from 3 star DT
Gee, I don't mind a Bobcat Nation poster who is a Bobcat fan mentioning egriz. I read that thread. Nothing surprising about it at all. Trashing a player and a coach isn't good, no matter how some egrizzers spin it. What's to gain by it? UM has everything to lose, and there are hundreds of other programs for the coach and his players to look at in the future. Sounds like UM won't be one of them, and it sounds like Stitt needs to get a handle on his approach to recruiting. Seems like he's pissing off CA PSAs left and right. That's two now, if I'm not correct.grizatwork wrote:

Right on cue ... I was just about to post how a certain somebody would jump into this thread to defend the Griz poster. Back in your room, MSUToddler! Griz posters get protected here, while MSU fans get threatened with being banned.
