Re: Griz v. Cal Poly
I love watching the griz lose under any circumstance but Cal Poly is going to have their way with the Bobcat defense next week. This team scares me to death, they are a nightmare matchup for us.

Geez - why don't you wave the white flag already. I say we are going to win.Weltercat wrote:I love watching the griz lose under any circumstance but Cal Poly is going to have their way with the Bobcat defense next week. This team scares me to death, they are a nightmare matchup for us.

Re: Griz v. Cal Poly
I thought the griz offense play calling was very vanilla. The defense seemed to get tired as the second half wore on. I think we will match up well with Poly

It is kind of sad for the Griz considering that MSU has smashed Cal Poly each season the last ten years.

I'm with WelterCat. I think CP will run all over our defense. Just have to hope our offense can keep up.Weltercat wrote:I love watching the griz lose under any circumstance but Cal Poly is going to have their way with the Bobcat defense next week. What does that have to do with Montana getting trounced in SLO?tampa_griz wrote:It is kind of sad for the Griz considering that MSU has smashed Cal Poly each season the last ten years.

Griz v. Cal Poly
A LOT when you consider how many times MSU beats Cal Poly year after year. It's shameful when you compare the histories.Weltercat wrote:What does that have to do with Montana getting trounced in SLO?tampa_griz wrote:It is kind of sad for the Griz considering that MSU has smashed Cal Poly each season the last ten years.

Huh? MSU hasn't played CP since 2005. Those games are ancient history and nobody involved in them is still around to affect next week's outcome.tampa_griz wrote:A LOT when you consider how many times MSU beats Cal Poly year after year. Are you sure it's been that long? At any rate, it's obvious that MSU has always had Cal Poly's number.MSU01 wrote:Huh? MSU hasn't played CP since 2005. Huh? What dramatic?! MSU is the king of Cal Poly. Re: Griz v. Cal Poly
Yea, we've lost to them seven times in a row and have not beat them since 96. Frankly I think the odds of the cats beating them next week are less than 50/50. I actually thought the griz matched up well with them but that shows you what I know about football. I just hope I'm as wrong about my next weeks prediction. The cats may have a shot if they outscore them but I think that is what it will take in the indian summer weather at SLO.tampa_griz wrote:Huh? What dramatic?! MSU is the king of Cal Poly. I have to tip my hat to Tampa...even on a night when UM was soundly beaten by a team that MSU probably has a decent chance of beating next week, his ability to get under the skin of some of you will not be denied.

Re: Griz v. Cal Poly
Last night CP was a team on a mission. They are going to need to get that high and ready to beat the CATS next week. No question they have been improving as the season progresses, but like wise, the Bobcats are much more experienced than at the start of the season. Looking at Cal Poly in real time, not basing everything on last night, they are certainly beatable. They lost to 2-6 Mexico State. Idaho beat NMS! They lost 18-42 to South Dakota State. They lost to NAU. I think our offensive line, speed and diversity will cause them huge problems. In some ways our defense is built to deal with their offense. Our D-line is not big but is pretty quick, our linebackers are supposed to be the heart of the defense and this week is the time to show up. Our corners can tackle. I'd rather be going to Cali to play these guys than Sac State again. Plus we've had a week off to get some healing and extra prep. I'm good with this thing. If they win they will need to be better than us. I don't think they are.

Lol. The griz got piss pounded last night, but it's OK, because MSU didn't do well against Cal Poly 10-20 years ago.tampa_griz wrote:Huh? What dramatic?! MSU is the king of Cal Poly. Still hard to say of Cal Poly is that good or Griz are that bad. Loks like Cal Poly will get their points and will be tougher to run on than most. We will have to light it up, unlike WSU game.

It's a dark and lonely trail on the path to irrelevance. The past is all he's got to talk about now. But I'm not seeing how teams of the past have anything to do with the current teams either. It must be that tradition thing which is always good for 14 pts if you asked them.

Re: Griz v. Cal Poly
UM is by no means out of it despite how bad they looked last night. If Adams doesn't come back in time for UM game, that one is in play. They're quite capable of beating SAC and So. Utah. That leaves MSU at home.
There are currently six teams within a game of first place. MSU has to play three of them (ISU, Poly, UM). UM just two (EWU, MSU). ISU just two (MSU, Poly). Poly just two (MSU, ISU). EWU just one (UM). And, get this, NAU none. NAU has WSU, UCD, UND and So. Utah remaining. Those teams area a combined 6-26.

MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Re: Griz v. Cal Poly
Nope 7. The last Griz drive was helped out by a Hail Mary throw up by Johnson that jones somehow was in the area and the db looked like he had giveen up. Then they got a trerible late hit penalty that gave them an extra shot at the endzone.LongTimeCatFan wrote:It's a dark and lonely trail on the path to irrelevance. Poly was rolling the Griz in the second half, you could tell they were not going to have a second half collapse like last year in Missoula. Poly wanted this game and put a lot into it. We get poly at the right time IMO. Polys' defense looked beatable, I think we can put up enough points to make it difficult for the. To stick with us. Triple option is based on wearing a team down, when your scoring and have a lead the defense plays with more cofidence and the triple option starts to break down cause they are looking for big plays and not taking the 3 4 yards and a cloud of dust that sets up the big run.
We actually match up better than um in this game at poly
