That's about what I thought. However... I'm hearing Epperly could be the hidden gem. You got a good one there.

Brint - what's your take on the Griz class? Do you know how many players were full schollie versus walk on? I know that sometimes that is irrelevant. At first glance it looks like you probably got some great pickups on paper... but not very many players, and several players with not much size yet?
Greatest recruiting class ever. Since the UM and NCAA have made a cordial agreement on "alleged penalties" I'm really impressed with the coaches ability to go get guys that should have been rated 3 or 4 star recruits and going to the Pac 12, especially a lot of these Montana kids.

Trolling the hell out of that post just to get a few cat fan's blood boiling. No, I don't actually think that.
I try not to boil my blood, as it actually turns 4 star recruits into crying whiners. I do think that your olineman that appears to be about 6' 13" and only weighs about 150#'s will be a force

Some good potential in the guys that sent in NLI and possibly some interesting prospects in the walk-ons. Regardless I think a lot of these guys will need 2-3 years before we know what we've got. Some true freshman can come in right away and help... don't see that in this group. Not like that Marino DT you guys signed... ermagherd, that highlight reel ruined my day.

Weyer is the best pure QB from Montana since Osweiler.

That's one position UM has a lot of talent at. Johnson, Smithwick-Hann, McKinney, Gustafson, Simis, Weyer.

I would say that's the best position to have a lot of talent at. A good QB can mask a lot of deficiencies.

You won't find too many people that will argue with you on that one. :)

Nobody is better than Roderick, except maybe Bleskin, or McQueary? (depending on which guy wins the job). Sorry Dakota, this is just qb's from MT.

Hands down Roderick is the better athlete. Jury is still out on Weyer in my opinion. He had the luxury of playing with one of the more dominant teams in Montana in a long time. General consensus is that he has a high ceiling due to height and arm strength. They said the same thing about Gustafson as well. Still too early to judge on either of them. For high school ball, I would take Roderick based on his athleticism. Dual threat in high school is deadly. People smarter than me seem to think Weyer will be the better college quarterback. I am just going to sit back and see because only time will tell.

Nope.

Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

Maybe a the best pure passer, but not overall. I'd say Roderick has that spot. Weyer had a slightly better supporting cast than Roderick with two first team all state receivers in Dissly and D'Agostino, and a second team WR, a first team RB and three first team OL, and occasionally Collins at TE. Roderick had no first team WRs, two second team WRs, a first team RB and TE, and two first team OL. Weyer threw for 2,540 and 28 TDs to Roderick's 2,457 and 28 TDs, which is basically a was, but TRod had 1,913 rushing and 23 more TDs.

I've heard one griz alum that watched a bunch of Weyers games, say that Weyer is color blind. How many pick did he actually throw?

Just three during the regular season, according to an article I read. Didn't throw any in the championship game. Threw one in their first playoff game.

Having watched most of Rodericks games and all of Weyers last 2 year's games I don't think there is any comparison, it's Roderick hands down. Rods feet won a ton of games while Weyer may have gained 40 yards last season on carries. Weyer's O-line was far better and the Hawks D last year overwhelmed teams, up til the last game I can't remember any team scoring 3 TD's on the Hawks first string D. Weyer is a great young man and a good pocket QB but when you are continually getting the ball in short field situations and you have a giant receiver with great hands like Dissley you have one h___ of an advantage to start with. Rod is most dangerous when flushed, Weyer is strictly immobile. Rod should be a natural fit for Cramsey's supposed offense (which we have yet to see).
