This post had absolutely nothing to do about football and more about Hauck and his possible reaction to the Quinn situation. It didn't stop you from posting excessively. The ironic thing about the whole situation is that both of us would like to see Quinn leave. You seem to have a problem with anyone who does not think that the griz program is in demise like you do.

Then we are cool.
I don't think we are in demise talent wise, it's just that our head coach and OC suck ass. We would have hung at least 3 more NC flags in our stadium if we had a good HC and OC.
You must have taken what I said a little worse than I intended.

Make up your mind.
You can't say I am negative and think the Griz are in demise then turn around and say I am optomistic.
I think it was totally possible with the talent we had and have. May not have won it 2 years ago but I think the Griz defense last year stacked up very well against App St.
If we had a better coach and OC we would have won a couple IMO.
Our offense flat out sucks, but hey let's keep doing the same thing over and over again.

Does anyone disagree that this is no different than any other situation in life? If you're a top-flight performer in the corporate world, I guarantee you get some flexibility. If you're a low performer, guess what? Bye-bye!El_Gato wrote:Does anybody disagree that if Quinn was #3 on the depth chart at his position he'd already be gone?

GinWa,
In a team environment? No, I believe team rules for MANY teams apply evenly for ALL athletes (see JoPa's reaction to some Penn St. infractions).
So you are condoning the idea that "star" players don't have to abide by team rules? Or that it's OK for them to be given more latitude than players that don't start or play much? There are likely numerous Griz players who work harder than Quinn (a guy who's yet to play a down, btw) and you are OK with the fact that some of them would be given a shorter leash than this clown?
Nice message to be sending college athletes...

It appears to me that your are negative in your interpretation of the results and optomistic in your expectations.AlphaGriz1 wrote:Make up your mind.

If you couldn't stop UMass's running game last year you sure as hell wouldn't have stop Appy.
Now saying your offense sucks is possible but I think that is more a matter of injuries and talent than coaching although coaching is always apart of success and failure.

I neither condone it, nor turn a blind eye to it. It happens in every walk of life. That was all my post said. The remainder, you somehow read into it. In fact, if you look at the first page in this thread, you'll note that I state emphatically how I feel about Quinn staying with the Griz.El_Gato wrote:GinWa,

Good post! I won some cash off my buddy last year because he was so convinced that UMASS was so good and that they would probably beat App State. I said "no way..." that App State team was so good, I was really proud of how we hung with them.CPACAT wrote:It appears to me that your are negative in your interpretation of the results and optomistic in your expectations.AlphaGriz1 wrote:Make up your mind.

J.D. Quinn should not have keys
Posted on July 24, 2007 by Colin O'Keefe
I imagine J.D. Quinn as the big guy at the party who brags about how good he is at drinking and driving. The guy who claims to possess the ability to sober up immediately. He may say he's even passed a few field sobriety tests in his day. Look at me, come on, do I look drunk? I had eight beers! Eight! That's it! I can raise and lower my BAC at will. He's the guy you have to drive to the party because you know he'll always drive home once he's there, just to prove to everyone he could do it.
This recent arrest marks the third time Quinn has been arrested for drinking and driving. This comes from an article in the The Norman Transcript on the last time he was arrested for driving under the influence.
Oklahoma offensive lineman J.D. Quinn was arrested Tuesday and has been charged with one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of alcohol in Cleveland County District Court.
According to a police affidavit filed with the charge, Quinn, 19, was stopped at 803 Beaumont Square for speeding and failure to use a turn signal.
The affidavit states Quinn admitted to consuming beer and consented to and failed a breathalizer test.
A Dec. 13 court date is scheduled.
Court records indicate it was Quinn’s second alcohol related offense since coming to OU. On April 30, 2004, he was arrested for actual physical control of a vehicle while intoxicated and possession of a fictitious identification card.
Is J.D. trying to get caught? If I were trapped someplace, let's say in the wilderness with an impending blizzard, and absolutely had to drive home with a BAC slightly above the legal limit, I can guarantee you I wouldn't be going a single mile per hour over the speed limit. J.D speeded while intoxicated twice. No one knows how the first one played out but it did include him giving a fake ID to a cop. Nice.
