I never was arrested, on academic probation, or in any other kind of trouble; in fact I graduated near the top of my major while in attendance. While the actions of Rick Gatewood, Jimmy Wilson, and others do not shed great light onto Montana University athletics, it is EXTREMELY small minded and shallow to characterize the actions of a few for all Black athletes from California. As shameful as these acts are, it's almost equally as shameful the biggotry and stereotyping that has ensued as a result (especially on this site). It saddens me that the place that I called home for 4 years is home to some of the same people who thought of me and those like me as nothing but "thuggish, black, hip-hop trouble makers. People come in all colors; so do people who make bad choices/decisions. While I'm not condoning any of the incidents that have occured in Montana over the last few months, I will not stand idly by and read people continually bashing and degrading a certain type of people because of the actions of a few. It doesn't do justice to the countless others who have been upstanding citizens in the community while attending Montana schools
If I am not mistaken, one of the good RB for MSU (Grove) is from CA. No books should be judged by their cover--you must read them first.

I agree with most of your post. Everyone should be judged by their own actions and not by the action who is from the same town, same state or of the same color or religion. We have had a lot more positve input to our university from CA than negative if you add it up. Unfortunately, we are at a point where the bad is getting the press right now.
I would like to also point out that there has been more positive said about CA athletes on this site by more people over the last few weeks than the negative by a few. If you group everyone that post on this site together you are doing the same thing you are speaking against.
For the record I have no issues regarding where people are from or the color of their skin. People need to be judged by who their are and what they do as an individual.
