Maybe we can do an e-mail campaign to keep him here. Anyone got his e-mail address at the fieldhouse? I'll send him one right now if we know what it is!

Erickson claiming he hasn't been talked to. Says he'd take a look.
I'd say if he goes to ASU, Kramer is gone.

Thanks for the article. I assume he's on everybody's short list but you have to admit, that AD for ASU would be impossible to be around.crazycat wrote:http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/c ... rid06.html

Well, however this shakes out, the silver lining in all of this is that, with the playoff win and the team you guys have coming back next year, MSU is in a better position to attract a quality replacement for Kramer if they need to. Having seen the Griz undergo more than their share of coaching changes in the past ten years, I think it's fair to say that we've always been helped in attracting good coaching candidates to the program because of our team's past successes, and after this year, you guys have a little bit of that working for you, too.

Actually, I wouldn't mind seeing Dennehey come back to Bozo in a larger capacity than when he was a young assistant. I think just like the Old Ball Coach, he's probably been humbled and we wouldn't have to sit in the stands and watch the lopsided scores...and he'd be coaching in the same conference against his old school as Vince Dooly did for years and Stever Superior is now

CORRECTION - apparently it's $200k, which Dennis was willing to do since he is still getting paid by the 49ers.PapaG wrote:I've seen $300k thrown around here and other places.El_Gato wrote:I didn't read the whole thread so maybe this has been asked/answered:
Does anyone know how much Idaho was/is paying Erickson?
Best of all for the school is that the 49ers are paying most of Erickson's salary. Idaho pays him $200,000, one of the lowest salaries for a Division I-A head football coach, which is deducted from the $2.5 million he will be paid this season and next for not working for the 49ers.

Well, unless Idaho is willing to offer more than 200K to Mike, I'm not entirely sure that's enough to lure him away.
Of course, there are other positive reasons for Mike to go to UI, but I think there's also a lot of positive reasons for him to stay at MSU. If Idaho were to offer him $300k+, however, I'd bet on him taking it...

$200k only because Dennis was getting another $2.3 million from the '49ers. My guess is a total package of about $300k will be offered to their next coach, unless of course some other fired NFL coach wants to move to Idaho.El_Gato wrote:Well, unless Idaho is willing to offer more than 200K to Mike, I'm not entirely sure that's enough to lure him away.

Perhaps this should be MSU's plan for replacement coaches. Just hire the guy fired from a NFL team or that had a big DI buyout. That way MSU could get a good coach and not pay him...

This article specifies certain requirements concerning how and when an announcement in AZ can be made. Mike Stoops at AZ, for instance, cannot announce the hiring of Texas Tech's Offensive Coordinator as his new coordinator until he gives his final after action report of the season, if you will.

The one thing about this list that bothers me is that the private schools are not subject to the Freedom of Information Act--supposedly--because they do in fact receive federal money so they should be required to let us know what they pay their faculty.

Erickson is going..............
As for the pay, Idaho can use the $150,000 the get as a buyout to help lure a new coach into town

Fairly amazing how small the coaching fraternity actually is at times. Plus, wouldn't it be brutal to live a life as an assistant coach at that level? You don't dare unpack your suitcase because you never know when some booster loses a big bet and get pissed and wants you fired.
