Okay, a few more stories:
OU mulls canceling Washington game over ref dispute
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2594808
NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma would consider canceling its game at Washington in 2008 if the Pacific 10 Conference doesn't change its rule requiring league officials to be used at its home stadiums, Sooners coach Bob Stoops said Tuesday.
OU reaction transitions from indignation to insanity
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/ ... id=2594247
The Dash understands why Sooner Nation (2) lost its collective mind after the officiating fiasco at the end of the Oregon game, which was won by the Ducks 34-33. The non-call on the onside kick stunk. The inept review of the call was worse. The Pac-10's one-game suspension of the offending officials was completely justified.
But the Oklahoma reaction has become an overreaction. In fact, it has transitioned from righteous indignation to outright insanity.

It's not OU anymore. It's pOUt! What a bunch of babies. People die in wars; these clowns threaten a ref's life who was only given one replay from ABC, who then pushed him for a decision. A bad angle replay, I must add.theblackgecko wrote:Okay, a few more stories:

Congrats pOUt. You managed to make the people who gave you a bad break the victim.

No doubt. Stoops and co are turning this into a complete whine-fest. The death threats are over the top.PapaG wrote:It's not OU anymore. It's pOUt! What a bunch of babies. The officials screwed up royally and I feel the game was given to oregon but I've gone from feeling sorry for OU to not giving a damn at all.

Once again, the only Duck defense is that OU should have made the plays and not been in position to lose. Oh yeah, it's MUCH better to be a Duck & KNOW that the only reason you won the game was thanks to breaking the rules & getting away with it.
I hate Whoregon but OU has gone overboard.

You guys are telling me that if the Bobcats lost out on the playoffs becasue of a obvious bad call that cost us a game, short of the death threats, you all wouldn't be considering all these options and yes crying about it. I know I would. I'd be mad as He!!. Cripes Bobcat Nation calls for refs heads on a blown pass interference call that ends up having no effect on the outcome a game
I could care less, I was going for Oregon in this game but this is wrong, and it has cost OU any chance at a National titile which is fine with me, but still wrong

I agree. I was watching it this morning and I can’t believe the refs are only suspended for a week. They ruined a team’s chance at the title and all they lose is a week? I would feel just as frustrated as the head coach seemed to be on TV.Ponycat wrote:You guys are telling me that if the Bobcats lost out on the playoffs becasue of a obvious bad call that cost us a game, short of the death threats, you all wouldn't be considering all these options and yes crying about it. And once again, I'll point out that ABC only provided one replay angle for the booth, and it was a bad angle. Hence, throw out replay because ABC messed it up. All we have to go by is the call on the field.I agree. I was watching it this morning and I can’t believe the refs are only suspended for a week. With that, a close ball touched by Oregon is recovered. Bad call? Sure, but so were the non-calls that gave pOUt 14 points in the 3rd quarter. What is funny to me is how Oregon went through the "vaunted" pOUt defense so easily after the onside kick. Then, when pOUt returned the kick inside the Duck 30 yard line, Stoops and his staff were so rattled they RAN THE BALL. Seriously bad coaching and he cost his team the game with that move. Throw in a blocked FG and you have a problem on the sidelines that has nothing to do with the zebras. His scapegoating only further shows why that program is on the decline again.
And I'm still wondering why the NCAA isn't investigating the summer job program at pOUt. With their history of NCAA violations, you'd think they would get some sort of "lack of institutional control" slap on the wrist.

I guess I don't see this as a judgement call, which most other bad or good calls in football are. I see this as the refs flat out not doing there job and giving another team an obvious unfair advantage.PapaG wrote:And once again, I'll point out that ABC only provided one replay angle for the booth, and it was a bad angle. I definately understand why OU is throwing such a fit. If Stoops wasn't pouting about this I'd be worried about him. But he better get over it soon or else he won't have the chance pout about it at the end of the year.

This story just won't die....
Knight tweaks OU over Oregon complaints
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=2597046
OKLAHOMA CITY -- Texas Tech basketball coach Bob Knight, whose Red Raiders lost to Oklahoma on a controversial call three years ago, said he knows how fans feel about wanting a forfeit after OU's loss to Oregon on Saturday.
Knight called for Oklahoma to forfeit its basketball game with Tech on Jan. 20, 2003, when the Sooners won 69-64 in overtime at Norman after two clock controversies in the final seconds of regulation. Video replay later showed the game clock started late after OU in-bounded the ball on the game-tying drive.
"Maybe now those people at Oklahoma understand what I was talking about," Knight told The Oklahoman.
