I'm glad it didn't happen and I'm glad Vigen is staying, for now. It's terrible that colleges preach loyalty but don't practice it. How could they seriously ask him to give up coaching the NC? Or announce a move before the game is played even. Horrible thing to do so the team. That's ludicrous.catatac wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2024 12:16 pmAbsolutely jumping on and agreeing with this as well! So let's say they did get him, and he crushes it at WSU, they make the FBS playoffs and have a legit change at a national title..... but he quits before a playoff game because he gets a huge offer from UW or whoever, but it's..... quit now or you're not getting the job. You spend 4 yrs preaching about having your teammates back and never letting them down and then you as a coach would do that….speaks volumes of who Vigen is. We are blessed… anyone got 8 mil lying around to keep him here ?utucats wrote: ↑Sat Dec 28, 2024 9:54 pmRidiculous. I would never hire a coach that would abandon his team days before reaching their ultimate goal. Apparently WSU requires that you be an awful member of the team before they’ll hire you.Bobcat4Ever wrote: ↑Sat Dec 28, 2024 9:51 pmExactly. They want him because he might be an NC-caliber coach, but didn’t want to give him the chance to find out.

Might be why WSU has had a hard maintaining much of a program year after year if they don’t lead by example. I was at rhe game for Denarius McGhee’s breakout game for the Cats. If my memory is correct we lost by 1 and think there was huge coaching error I believe. Would have thought WSU had just won the Super Bowl the way the fans were celebrating. But I think it was their first win in a few years..nanacat wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2024 4:02 pmI'm glad it didn't happen and I'm glad Vigen is staying, for now. SDSU has hired Dan Jackson as their new Head Coach. Former assistant there who went to Idaho with Jason Eck as their DC, then briefly followed Eck to New Mexico in the same position.
