How about Mitch Donahue? He hails from Billings West.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned him, but certainly one of the best to come out of UM, is Scott Grag. He has played 11 season on O-Line, and is the highest drafted player out of UM.

Scrafford from the Griz played OL for the 49ers until a back injury forced him to retire, he probably recorded 5 or 6 years as a starter, if I remember correctly.

I surprised no one has mentioned Tim Hauck. Like his brother or not he would have to be included in this conversation.

I'm surprised he wasn't mentioned either.

What about Doug Betters, played for UM '74 - '76 then transfered to Nevada for a year, and was drafted in the 6th round by the Dolphins, where he played for 9 years.
Betters was a part of Miami's "Killer B's" defense, and went to Super Bowl XVII and XIX. In 1983, Betters recorded 16 sacks in 16 games and won the NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award, and was named to the AFC Pro Bowl team. In '83 and '84, Betters was named the Miami Dolphins "Outstanding Defensive Lineman." Betters played 146 NFL games and made 43½ career sacks. He was named by the fans to the Dolphins' Silver Anniversary Team in 1991. Betters was an assistant coach for the University of Montana Grizzlies in 1995 and 1996.

Why did he transfer to Nevada? They were in the BSC at the time (right)?

If you're looking for Bobcats with some pro longevity, Ron East (teammate of Stenerud and Erickson) played with the Cowboys, Hawaii of the old WFL, and finished up with the Seahawks. He was extremely effective as a special teams guy with Dallas, sort of a star in the WFL and a C- with the Hawks. About 10 years total. Tony Boddie was with the LA Express (coached by Pokey Allen from Missoula High School), then on to the Broncos. Maybe one of the most forgotten Bobcats was Bob Schmitz who played linebacker for the Steelers in the 60's. Schmitz was an NFL player of the week for stopping the great Jim Brown all day long. He played 5 or 6 years. May have gone to the Pro Bowl. I always thought Mike McLeod was one of the Cats better receivers before joining Joey Thomas' old team. Pat Ogrin from Butte High and U of Wyoming has a Washington Redskin Super Bowl ring.
As goofy as Ryan Leaf was/is, he's still reverred in Cougarville. Mike Price always defended him.

Rocky Klever

Mitch Donahue

TIM HAUCK

SCOTT GRAGG

Heck, Gragg may be the best ever out of Montana. He's in his 11th year and still plays a key role.

On a side note, while in college I valet parked for Shane Collins' wedding at the Gateway. Donahue was there as well. I'm sure it was the only wedding in Montana history where two Montana-raised and active-NFL products were in the same wedding party. Heck, probably even the same wedding.

:)

Ya, Tim is the guy that knocked Michael Irvin out of the league! Wasn't much of a hit, but just enough.

And he hasn't even played in the two games for the Saints. Any word on if he will play?

If you look at the situational stats the last time he played in 2005 was 10/23 for the Packers agains the Vikings. He hasn't played since he was picked up by the Saints. Wondering if/when he will play.

Speaking of Shane Collins, I loved Dr. Don's class, Biology 105. Didn't Shane go to Arizona on a track scholarship?
