Dakota walks one in. 33-7 UO.

Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

Interesting comments from Prukop in the ESPN write-up of the game.

I assume you are referring to the car analogy? I guess I could see some from MSU taking a bit of offense there, but really it's a pretty spot on analogy. I don't really think he was trying to hate on MSU, just trying to point out the difference in what the world sees of him and how the experience of that feels. And I can't blame the kid for saying it's a dream come true. I'm rooting for him this year, and I know a number (at least) of his old teammates are as well.

He and the whole team played better against Davis when he was at MSU. So he couldn't have possibly been talking about MSU.

Maybe it was our stadium, which is like a rusty old Winnebago compared to where Prukop's at now.

The only reason he got the stats he did against Cal-Davis was that our defense let them score 40 some points, thus making it imperative to leave our starters in for almost the entire game.

It was a 40-point margin. 77-37. Prukop was just on fire that day, he couldn't miss. And actually he did come out of the game midway thru the 4th quarter.
I remember Bleskin was taking a knee with 3-4 minutes left in the game and giving the ball back to them, because Ash didn't want to score 80 and embarrass them.

Prukop threw his last pass with 1:17 left in the third quarter and didn't return. A 31-yard TD to Johnson.

Oregon's defense didn't do much better (which is why Oregon was working to score until the very end of the game and why Prukop played until the last play of the game) ... could be a long season for Oregon if that game is any indication. I assume they'll improve, though. It seems like Oregon has started out slow a few times over the last several years.

Thanks for the correction Tom, I knew he didn't finish the game.

I wasn't correcting you. You had it right in general. :)

Something about "It's like coming from driving a car no one talks about to driving a Ferrari".

Wow, sounds really condescending. I tried searching for his comments.

I don't have any problem with the comment or the analogy. MSU is a "small FCS" school that frankly no one outside the fans of FCS football talk about. Hell, look at the interview with the Bryant coach coming to town this weekend. Just wants to see cowboys, ride horses, take his check and go home.

Prukop went to one of the best marketed teams in the country. He went from a small regional stage to one of the biggest in the nation. If you were a band, it's like going from playing the Gallatin County Fair to Madison Square Garden.

Maybe, but it's accurate. He's now at the top level at a premier school. We were lucky to have him, kids of his abilities aren't too common at our level.

Pretty interesting. I also noticed that no FCS quarterbacks were on the list. I have to believe his chances of a pro career are improved with the increased national exposure.

If you think Prukop has any chance at a pro career as a QB, I want whatever it is you're drinking!

Define "any chance".... If you think he has no chance as the starting QB of Oregon you are the one that is drinking. If he puts up the same type of numbers he did here this year with Oregon he will definitely have a chance. Will he be a first round pick or top prospect, probably not but he will have a chance.
