Adams has missed all or part of at least 8 games to 3 different injuries in the last 2 years. Someone might take a winger on him for a backup, but no way is anyone ever paying him to be a franchise QB.
Interesting comments about the Oregon defense. They looked tight after it went to 31-17. Prukop may regret taking Oregon over Alabama. You can almost always count on the Bama defense to bail you out.
Adams going pro right now...

Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

Alabama has a few 4 and 5 star dual threat guys. Even if Saban liked him I'd pick Oregon just based on those odds too.
And they do have a center, he was just hurt. Their depth is certainly a concern.

If I heard right, their starting center that got hurt was ANOTHER grad transfer from Notre Dame, which means he's done now.CatBlitz wrote:Well yeah. Re: Adams going pro right now...
That game was an amazing example of just how important the QB position really is. Once VA went out, and knowing that Oregon has nobody on the bench who is even serviceable at hurting them throwing the ball (something to keep an eye on in future years -- not sure if this coaching staff is just horrible at recruiting/developing their own QBs or if they are just the unluckiest coaching staff in the country), TCU just focused their defense on stopping the run ... which they did very successfully. That caused a lot of quick possessions for Oregon, which in turn wore out the Oregon defense. Once that momentum was in place, helped out by a few key miscues by the Oregon offense and special teams, the rout was on in the second half.
Had VA been in the game, I'm pretty sure Oregon would have won by at least 40.
I was excited to see Oregon up by 30-something at halftime -- I tend to pull for the Pac 12 and Oregon in particular, but I definitely starting pulling for TCU to take them out as the second half moved along. There is no excuse for an implosion that severe by a program that has that much money behind it. Had they won by a few points at the end it would have been an injustice. They deserved to lose that game. Without VA, Oregon may have been the worst team in the Pac 12 this season, which is remarkable.

My thoughts almost to a T. I've been cheering for Oregon for several years now, and I make it a point to always cheer for the Pac-12, if for no other reason than the egocentrism of the Big 10 (completely unjustified, buy the way) and the SEC (sadly, justified).SonomaCat wrote:That game was an amazing example of just how important the QB position really is. Unbelievable that Oregon has resorted to poaching Big Sky QBs in order to even be competitive in the Pac-12. Something is rotten in Denmark...

Oregon's backup couldn't even handle a snap... How can Oregon not even recruit and average QB? Phil Knight needs to do a better job of "recruiting".

Since when is Vernon Adams below average? Oh, wait, Oregon can't "recruit" other college players. The Butcher wrote:Oregon's backup couldn't even handle a snap... How can Oregon not even recruit and average QB? Phil Knight needs to do a better job of "recruiting".
