That doesn't sound like much more than trespassing. $50,000 bail seems way too high unless there's more to the story.

The elements of burglary are breaking into some place and the intent to commit another offense, they broke in using a ladder and discussed taking something. They will get it dropped to breaking and entering or trespass soon though,

Which tells me that charges will be filed, but it may not be felony burglary

My guess is criminal trespass, which is exactly what a couple Cats players did at the Mayor's house not too long ago, correct? What punishment did Ash and the school impose? If I remember correctly, it was a Bignell but weren't they red shirt freshman? Ashame that a couple of these kids are seniors and starters. Will miss some time and maybe rest of season is my guess. Kids are not too bright at times.

With new school student codes of conduct their punishment will be directly related to the charge. A felony would warrant kicked off the team. A misdemeanor not so much.
