Just in case someone missed it:

Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

Being there I loved the ending.....crazy or not it was a great effort by both teams and a horribly refereed game both ways.

Now hear this: you are rationalizing a complete and total lack of professionalism on the part of your basketball coach.Placidlakegriz wrote:Yea it sucks being us.catatac wrote:Ya, that was crazy. Griz coach was acting kind of like a punk IMO. Not a huge shock though.
Who wants a coach that would go to the student section after the game giving all high fives?
Who would want they players saying the following: "From the get-go we've known that he has our backs," said Gregory, who led the Griz with 21 points. "Like he's told us many times before he wouldn't ask us to run through a wall for him, he'd ask us to run through a wall with him. I think that perfectly displays what our team's about."?
Who wants a coach that on his first year takes his team to the championship game?
Who wants a coach that beat down the cross state team twice?
I'm once again hearing a lot of kitty envy.
I guess that is to be expected given UM's track record with the likes of Pflu and Bobby.

Re: Crazy ending to griz game.
I don't expect an objective view on an opposing fan's message board. I get it. However, this is a team picked to finish 8th pre-season with a first year coach who is an alum of the school he is coaching. He was excited after an emotional win at home and celebrated with the students, a section that has been dead since the the renovation. I think you are being a little over dramatic about this.FTG06' wrote:Now hear this: you are rationalizing a complete and total lack of professionalism on the part of your basketball coach.Placidlakegriz wrote:Yea it sucks being us.catatac wrote:Ya, that was crazy. I read this board often and the one complaint I hear a lot is that Ash is not emotional enough. The one compliment I hear of Fish is that he actually shows emotion. Hypocrite much?

Bringing emotion doesn't mean high fiving the student section after the benches cleared to participate in a skirmish that the coach caused. That to me shows a lack of professionalism.grizatwork wrote:I don't expect an objective view on an opposing fan's message board. I get it. I haven't witnessed Fish in action, because MSU basketball is about as exciting as a lecture on existentialism. Therefore, it is impossible for me to be a hypocrite.

Bottom line is a technical foul should have been called. A call that any ref at any level would make. Not sure why last night. Homer call or not.

That's a classic photo. Big Sky being the Big Sky. Don't expect it to end any time soon.CatBlitz wrote:Just in case someone missed it:

EWU going to the dance.
I have no problem with the UM coach getting excited after a huge win - we'd be thrilled if an MSU coach could even get us to the conference title game no matter how he acted afterward!!! It's not his fault the refs blew the call.

Re: Crazy ending to griz game.
EWU the better team all year. Best big sky team to represent the conference is in. With their upset win over Indiana on the road earlier this year, they could actually get a seed that could get them an upset. Congrats to them. Make fun of them academically all you want, but they have positioned themselves as the front-runner in major sports in the Big Sky. And in all reality, most of the country doesn't care that they are a directional school. All they see is that they beat Oregon State, they push UW to the wire in FB, and they beat Indiana in B ball. They are getting press the rest of us would love.

I showed my wife this picture and she had a hard time picking him out because he does look like he's playing defense. Albeit in shirt and tie, and dress pants.

Except he wasn't wearing a tie, either.

Re: Crazy ending to griz game.
Are you calling this board a hypocrite because different people have different opinions? That's an interesting take. You think everyone on bobcat nation should agree on a topic or we're all hypocrites? That's ridiculous.grizatwork wrote:I don't expect an objective view on an opposing fan's message board. I get it. The people complaining about Ash's lack of emotion are not the same ones complaining about Fish showing emotions. If they were, then I'd agree that person was a hypocrite, but not the whole board. That doesn't even make sense.

All I will say is a whistle should have been blown. That was a major bad non call.

On the other hand........I've watched NAU games on cable all year and one thing I have to admit, coach Murphy is a hot head. He''s an all-time expert at contrived passion. I've seen him come to interview at the end of a half and you could hardly tell what he's talking about. It seems like he has to make something up in his head to get fired up about. I can see him making accusations at DeCuire following the game which DeCuire took personally. Knowing how Murphy acts in these situations I have no doubt it was personal!........a non-FTG look at the situation.

BSC commissioner Fullerton suspends NAU Coach Murphy for 1 postseason game for starting the post game incident with the Griz. Wonder if the officials will get any kind of reprimand?
