That sir is a smack down.
It really should not ever be about what some kid did, they are kids and some do dumb things. It was what the supposed responsible adults did, or more precisley what they did not do, in response to what the kids did.
Yet most of their fans are supporting O'Day and Pflugrad. And blaming Engstrom, who O'Day and Pflugrad are also blaming. Why? Both of them had to know what was going on. It was their job to know and it was right in front of them, yet somehow its Engstrom's fault because he didn't fight the NCAA. O'Day knew his "friend" and assistant was basically housing a player and Pflugrad has admitted he only looked so far into the Tru-Kemp fiasco (and that's exactly what it was from the moment the cops came to their party the first time to now having Kemp's grandaddy say its discrimination).

Many of their fans also believe JJ did nothing to create the situation he got himself into and that he did nothing wrong and that the girl is making a false claim. To them there is just no way it could be anything else. A thread about jj's parents being at the game doubled down on that thought process yesterday.

The win at all costs mentality is alive and well at um.
You mean go to a girl's house to watch a movie when he was invited to do so? Face it, Cat fans were just as bad in their rush to convict him before he even went to trial, and I'm sure we'll hear all kinds of classy rapist comments from the crowd in Bozo this year.

Well you are probably right, any girl that invites a guy to watch a movie should be expected to give it up. She must be an evil schemer.

After watching the game I thought that Appy St. was suffering from the same problem that the Griz had last year.....lack of consistent QB play. Their QB's just didn't have any rythym to sustain drives
It's certainly fair to say Londry-Jackson didn't play his best game. But he threw for 3300 yards last year, was named first-team SoCon last year, and was named the pre-season offensive POY in the SoCon. I don't think the QB spot will be an on-going problem for App State. Give um credit where it's due. They shut down a really good offense. Is this App State team as good as their 3 title teams? Probably not, but they're still easily a top 10 or 15 FCS team.

Holy cow, someone in this thread with some sense! I'll give credit to MSU for blowing Monmouth out of the water, but I stand firm that they aren't on the same level as App State. In any event, both teams have a long, tough road to travel until the end of November.

I did, start to finish.

And for the life of me I cannot think of 15 FCS teams that are better than App State. Look, I understand everyone wanting to say negative things about the griz opponent. But it was App State with Londry-Jackson at QB. Not exactly the Citadel. Give credit where it's due: the griz beat a very good team.

This whole thread is silly. Both the Cats and the griz played well this week. What's wrong with saying that?

I call it a wash
The the way App State played, I'd say that they were worse than Monmouth. App looked absolutely awful and it made the griz look much better by comparison.
There is a reason for this........................

You're right almost. There's actually several reasons. Young ASU D had three frosh starting and several others rotating in. One of the best WRs in the nation was out. QB coming off knee surgery. New head coach. New DC. Poor special teams play. Oh, and I almost forgot, the grizz played really well...for the grizz.

We will see where App State ends up at the end of the season.

I think App will improve as the year goes on, but they're not a top 25 team right now. Maybe with Price back and Jackson back their offense will get going, but their D needs seasoning.
