Zero chance and the BOR were looking to replace him after numerous missteps.
Running for Senate as an Independent is just a very convenient side-step to avoid a public termination.
The BOR were not pleased with mistake prone tenure at missoula, he was on the hot seat.
I've heard nothing but positives from the regent I know. What were they not pleased with?

Looks like we can give input on their presidential survey.

That seems quite performative and gratuitous. I guess they want the public to "feel" like they were being heard.

I’ve participated in similar administrative searches in higher education (though not at MSU or UM), and in my experience, community input is considered to some extent. It’s just one of several tools used in the process. While its overall impact may be limited, it still provides valuable perspective.

My thoughts exactly, just hadn’t taken time to post it.

Good grief. Those are very typical bland questions, but that response — talk about living in someone’s head. It’s like the football team and half its supporters live rent-free in the finest on-campus housing in Missoula. MSU got as much ink as did the second- or third-fiddle school over there.

I remain confused. I thought it was the president of the university, not the athletic director, that was stepping down.

Basically this response means “Beat the ‘Cats“. Make UM ”look” better by taking any and all measures, ethical or legal or not. Very sad as this whole piece misses the essence of a university by a ‘Cat-country mile. If I was a prospective student I’d surely take a look at the visionary first-rate school that the writer is so envious of.
