Freddie Banks let go from CSU

Post by D-Wreck » Fri Dec 06, 2024 4:56 pm

Former Bobcat DC Freddie Banks was let go from CSU before their bowl game after the Rams put together the best scoring defense in the Mountain West this year. I'm an idiot, but that sure doesn't seem to add up.

That seems crazy. I thought he was a bright spot on that staff, certainly thought he did a great job here

And this is the risk of moving up the ladder. Made better money for 3 years and now job hunting.

I'm sure he'll fall all the way back down the ladder to another G5 team. He's good.

Possibly? I suppose it depends on why let go. Lowest scoring D in the conferwnce.

They had a coach they were going to lose if they didn't promote to DC, kinda a pathetic move if you ask me before a bowl game.

Sounds like Norvell and Banks just weren't getting along and weren't aligned philosophically on how they wanted to play football. Sucks for Banks, but the HC is the HC and he gets to do what he wants.

It’s interesting that Pilapil replaces him for the bowl game. Pilapil coached with Banks at MSU.

Bobcat athletics is a business to the coaches, school leadership, and players. It's time the fans treat Bobcat athletics as a business too.

Per Football Scoop, Freddie is headed to Wake Forest with Jake Dickert as their DB coach.
