Re: Missouri State - FBS
I just don’t understand why other than this is a dying program hoping to catch lightning in a bottle with some TV money.
Seattle to Billings to Missoula to Bozeman to Portland to Billings
What a ride

Re: Missouri State - FBS
I was pretty perplexed by this move so did a little digging. They do have some things going for them that could lead to fitting in a G5 conference.
Metro area of close to 500,000 - similar to Spokane
2nd largest university in Missouri
23,000 enrollment
Relatively new basketball arena
2 to 3 hours transit from St Louis, Tulsa or Kansas City. Large number of graduates in those cities.

Re: Missouri State - FBS
From Hero Sports related to Missouri State's football success:
Missouri State football averaged 9,143 fans last fall and has finished 4-7 and 5-6 in the last two seasons after an 8-4 record in 2021. The Bears have reached the FCS playoffs just two times in the last 30 years.
Since 1997, Missouri State has had overall winning records five times and has been above .500 in conference play three times. Two of those winning seasons in Missouri Valley play have been since the 2021 spring season.
