I apologize, I’m young and semi new to this… what’s the big gripe with Petrino around here besides he was clearly not a good head coach. No issues with it I just feel left out!
He's from Helena, I knew him a bit in high school, and he was a complete and total a**hole. I had several run-ins with him and his "posse" back then. Don't want to get into it all here, but he was a sh****y person.
Perhaps he's turned over a new leaf in his adult years, IDK. But I doubt it. I'm not a fan.
Ditto.
1,000% accurate.
Double Ditto. High school basketball game - 1985 - IN WARMUPS.

And the crazy thing is that hundreds of people have similar stories!

I am curious about Bob Petrino Sr. There is a banner hanging in the Harlowton gym with his name on it as he took the Engineers to the 1964 Class B basketball state championship. Was there any questions about his character. He seems to have bounced around a bunch of small high schools and sometimes that indicates some issues.

I am seeing a few similarities with Petrino and Beavis Hauck. Idaho left the FBS, Beavis left the FBS, both have over rated sons that played on their teams.

Somebody once told me there are two kinds of people when it comes to Petrino. One is people who despise him. The other are people who tolerate him.

I don't have an opinion on the guy, but you really felt like he didn't want to be there when they went back to fcs. His brother is obviously a good coach but ethics of a snake.

Bobby Petrino started coaching early with Carroll College football. He is popular because he has been on the winning side. The last thing I heard on him was that he was the head coach at South Carolina and had a drinking problem- was cheating on his wife with another woman and wrecked a motorcycle with this woman on the back. This is probably why he is at FCS Mo State. I think most people that know his character would probably say he has had issues, but how can you really judge someone without really knowing them or his family?
Just the same I hope we beat their ass if we play them on Dec.4

It was Arkansas, not South Carolina. And since his family is from Helena, a lot of us do know them.

As I recall, after the Arkansas fiasco, there was a year off, then to Western Kentucky, then Louisville, and now Mo.State. Weren’t there rumors about an affair with one of the Administration’s wife at Louisville too?? Can’t remember for sure on that one but seems I recall something on that front. Maybe we need to lock up the girlfriends and daughters if he comes to town?!

Obviously not, since he's coached at 3 different schools since that incident.

Yea I was trying to be clever.
Winning seems to count quite a bit in some circles.

I figured, I was just saying that didn't happen.
Yep, if a program is desperate enough, they'll give almost anybody a chance regardless of character or reputation.
Or maybe Bobby P is just a really good salesman.? idk.
