Re: Beau Baldwin expected to return to big sky
Wow, that blows me over, not only would his offense be a huge change for Cal-Poly, but the type of recruits CP gets is 180° from his EWU days.

Good coach. It will definitely be an improvement for Cal poly and some pretty easy recruiting I think

CP has some very high academic standards he will have to meet, recruiting is a challenge for CP

So...no more triple option to worry about every frickin' year?

Hasn't really seemed to hold back Hawkins at UC Davis. I think this move will work out for Baldwin and CP will turn into a Big Sky force.
I think CP was just being lazy by running the triple option and it was easy to make an excuse trying than trying to go out and sell what they can offer.

Easy was probably the wrong choice of words. But abundant might be a little more accurate. Triple option kids always seem to be more disciplined bunch like the academies.
However I am sure it will be a new brand of football there.

But is isn't anything like EWU, and Berkeley isn't exactly a tough school either, Hawkins is a Davis alum so I think he knows and IMO, the jury is still out on him anyway, they are not bottom of the league, but UCD had a very favorable schedule last yearCledus wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2019 10:36 amHasn't really seemed to hold back Hawkins at UC Davis. Re: Beau Baldwin expected to return to big sky
https://www.californiagoldenblogs.com/2 ... au-baldwinThere had been some speculation about Baldwin’s status and his future at Cal after this season. Baldwin’s contract is set to expire at the conclusion of this season, and there was some speculation as to whether Justin Wilcox would choose to renew him for a second stint. It appears that both parties will be spared difficult conversations.

Yep, basically the opposite of recruiting at EWU.
Seattle to Billings to Missoula to Bozeman to Portland to Billings

Re: Beau Baldwin expected to return to big sky
He went to Cal to try and get a shot a big time job. Since Cal's offense was terrible I'm guessing he was on his way to being shown the door, not get a head coaching job. Nice little landing spot. Might be a bit tougher though than EWU to get elite dudes due to academic requirements.

Baldwin is putting together a pretty good staff.
OC/WR: Nick Edwards
OL: Paul Wulff
QB: Erik Meyer
RB: Aristotle Thompson (from Walsh’s staff)
TE/ST: Casey Petree
LB/ST: JC Sherritt
Defensive assistant: Josh Letuligasenoa (from Walsh’s staff)
Three more to go on defense including DC.

Re: Beau Baldwin expected to return to big sky
Well, the Edwards, Wulff, Meyer and Sherritt names should all be familiar to BSC fans. Those guys won a ton of games during their respective stints in Cheney. Next thing you know, they'll bring Greg Peach in as the DL coach and John Zamberlin as the DC...SloStang wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2020 10:17 amBaldwin is putting together a pretty good staff.

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.
