Seems strange that Charlston Southern would allow this to happen.

It's been a while since I was in college, but I don't think the athletes even stepped foot in the bookstore. I believe they got all of their books at the academic center and then had to return them at the end of the semester. Seems risky giving college football players a handfull of cash and telling them to go buy books.

While I think this is a dumb rule by the NCAA, I also think that Charleston Southern could have avoided this very easily.

Yet North Carolina sets up fake classes for athletes and gets no punishment.

Love the NCAA! Always going tough on the big issues.

The players do not get cash. All transactions are through an athletic account and purchases are monitored by some one in athletics.
