Interesting article on full cost scholarships in FCS
http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/co ... /25825491/
I think I remember Fullerton saying the conference intended to leave the issue of "full cost" up to each school. It'll be interesting to see how fast this turns into another part of the recruiting "arms race".

All I've read has to do with Hockey for certain...as I understand, Title IX is again an issue in the small schools not in a position to provide this long due service to all the kids participating in collegiate athletics. I know NDSU is considering this as they're probably better positioned to make this commitment than UND (I have to get a life again instead of reading financial data from schools).cberkas wrote:North Dakota's AD said he will do full cost scholarships.

They will not let Minnesota get a recruiting advantage in men's hockey, because they compete for the same recruits. It sounds like every school in the NCHC (men's hockey conference) will do full cost of attendance. Faison has said what women's sport next year will get full cost of attendance yet. I'll say it will be the women's hockey team, since they have 3 B1G schools in the WCHA (women's hockey conference). North Dakota seems to be waiting on full cost of attendance in football, men's basketball, women's basketball, and volleyball until a school in the Big Sky makes the move or they could wait to see what NDSU does.Cat Grad wrote:All I've read has to do with Hockey for certain...as I understand, Title IX is again an issue in the small schools not in a position to provide this long due service to all the kids participating in collegiate athletics. Pretty much the same exact words my relatives in North Dakota have used. Your school already spends more per year on your hockey team than any other conference school spends on all their other teams combined and that includes U.C. Davis.cberkas wrote:They will not let Minnesota get a recruiting advantage in men's hockey, because they compete for the same recruits. Some are thinking and wanting the 18 stipends on the women's side to be split between woman's basketball and volleyball.Cat Grad wrote:Pretty much the same exact words my relatives in North Dakota have used. You think UND hockey spends $22 million/year ? Their other sports must feel extremely under appreciated when the total budget is $22 million.Cat Grad wrote:
