Is that what you call what you are doing? To me it seems like an odd combination of sour grapes, whining and fear. As I said, this wasn't your best work on here.tampa_griz wrote:Well I wouldn't call it outrage but there's a difference between buying out a game to play "up" vs. "down". If Montana had dropped a game with App. State instead of SDSU I would've been pissed.PapaG wrote:MSU bought out NDSU for SMU and also an extra home game. These things happen. I never understood the outrage by UM fans at MSU for buying out NDSU, when the Griz have bought out games in the past.tampa_griz wrote:
We didn't buy out NDSU. We bought out SDSU to play Iowa to play better competition.
And to be honest I don't really care. But if MSU fans are going to give Montana fans grief about this game you're gonna have to expect some snickering.

I hear ya there. Except in my case I don't have enough energy. Like you, most of my family are UM fans.grizatwork wrote:I started reading posts and then quit once it deteriorated into typical cat/griz pissing contest. That being said, I don't have a problem with cat fans not wanting the griz to win. The rivalry has gotten more heated since the streak and more so since it has started to even out. I don't have enough hostility in me to hate the cats. I have to many relatives and friends that went there to let it get personal. In fact, I will be in Bozeman this weekend at the game with my wife. She is from Oxnard, California and is a fan of Tai Salanoa. She has never been to a cat game in her 20 years here, so this is a good weekend and a good game for her to go with the griz out of town. I will not be buying cat gear for her, but I told her she could wear blue or gold if she wishes too. I would love the cats to beat the eagles. I have disliked them since they came back and beat us in the 4th quarter in 1989 in Washington/Griz stadium. Yes I am that old. Wouldn't mind meeting some of you this weekend.
The only part that bothers me is that you can't even enter into a constructively critical discussion or throw out some good-natured ribbing about the other school (be it UM in my case or MSU in yours) without someone turning it into a pissing match.

Re: Griz or Bison
I get it, some of you just plain hate everything Griz. But every BSC win over a non-BSC opponent increases the stock of the entire BSC in terms of both seeding and the number of teams making the playoffs (especially when knocking off the #1 seed). It is puzzling to me why you would want the Griz to lose when put in that context. The logical conclusion in my mind is that the "haters" must hate the Griz more than they love the Cats? Personally, I am hoping every BSC team wins every non-conference matchup. As for this weekend, GO CATS! (and go griz.)

I understand the logic here for sure. There was once a time when I rooted for the griz way back before even Don Read but that streak and all the pukey fans it drew out of the woodwork soured me on the griz forever. I don't have the stomach for them and will never root for another thing Montana again...Tri-Cities Cat wrote:I get it, some of you just plain hate everything Griz. Re: Griz or Bison
My answer to that is that regardless of what other BSC teams do OOC, If we win our own OOC games and win the conf autobid then we will be in the playoffs with a favorable seed. Our destiny in in our own hands and we don't need any damn help from the fizz. If we don't do what we need to and just squeak into the playoffs then that is probably where we belongTri-Cities Cat wrote:I get it, some of you just plain hate everything Griz. 16 years of putting up with Griz fans during the streak. No Sir I don't like them ... THE END.Tri-Cities Cat wrote:I get it, some of you just plain hate everything Griz. I hate the griz as much as anyone....but a State of Montana sweep of the #1 and #2 teams in the nation would be pretty darn neat....

Yeah, that would be sorta cool I suppose. But do you know what would be even better? MSU taking down the #2 team, and UM getting destroyed by the #1 team to the tune of 45-0.RangeRider wrote:I hate the griz as much as anyone....but a State of Montana sweep of the #1 and #2 teams in the nation would be pretty darn neat....

Re: Griz or Bison
As I have several relatives who went to both of these schools, I had one ask me just now if I'm going to go watch this game so I could see a "real" football team beat up on our cousin's school. It's pretty much understood which school's product would ask that type of question. Geezz, I hope NDSU beats them so dang bad they fall completely out of the rankings.

No, because even if that would happen, the griz idiots would still be on here Sunday morning arguing how their win was still better than ours, and how we wussed out on playing NDSU last year. I'd be happiest if it ended in a 0-0 tie, or if it was possible both teams somehow lost.RangeRider wrote:I hate the griz as much as anyone....but a State of Montana sweep of the #1 and #2 teams in the nation would be pretty darn neat....

Yeah I don't mean to bust your bubble, but the "Cat idiots" do the exact same thing on our board.KittieKop wrote:No, because even if that would happen, the griz idiots would still be on here Sunday morning arguing how their win was still better than ours, and how we wussed out on playing NDSU last year.
