NDSU banned the fencing club from the school. My guess would be that Lakes thought someone was going to stab him with a foil.

Re: NDSU sissies up
Insane. My own theory on things like this is that advocacy groups start out with great intentions. "No smoking in public buildings" for example. Great idea! That's something we all can probably agree on. But then the objective is reached and smoking is banned in public buildings. The problem then comes that the advocacy group can't just stop. So they take it further. No smoking within 100 feet of a door. No smoking at the beach. No smoking in the cigar shop. No smoking in your car. And so on and so forth.
It seems to go that way with everything. Weapons, abortion, sex, etc. They just can't turn it off.

Sounds like MSU. Their "smoke-free campus" rule includes you, in your own car that can be cited for violating it.tampa_griz wrote:Insane. Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

Re: NDSU sissies up
I dated a girl while I was at MSU who had a severe allergic reaction to cigarette smoke, so I was in favor of the smoke-free campus. There really isn't much of campus that is far enough away from a sidewalk that Bozeman winds can't blow the smoke across them.CatBlitz wrote:Sounds like MSU. I haven't asked her, but I think even she would say that banning cigarettes inside personal vehicles is taking it a bit too far.
That's not really a good example. Drunk driving kills innocent bystanders (or innocent by-drivers, as the case may be). The NCAA banning cream cheese at team breakfasts or Brigham Young expelling one of their basketball players because he had consensual sex with his girlfriend are better examples.gtapp wrote:MADD comes to mind!!!

That's nothing. Oregon kicked three players completely out of school for having consensual sex with a woman.BLACKnBLUEnGOLD wrote:Brigham Young expelling one of their basketball players because he had consensual sex with his girlfriend are better examples.

I'm like 99% certain that's closer to homophobia than PC.PapaG wrote:That's nothing. Wait ... what? Projection? Posting the facts is homophobic?BLACKnBLUEnGOLD wrote:I'm like 99% certain that's closer to homophobia than PC.PapaG wrote:That's nothing. I'm 99% sure you're the homophobic one, if you read homophobia into a post that had nothing to do with homosexuality.

Thinking you read that juuuust a bit different than me. Your comment was interpreted as 3 men and one woman.....hence, not a PC situation, but a homophobic one. Not trying to speak for BB&G, but I didn't see that as him calling YOU homophobic. I'm thinking the little laughy guy indicated "joke".PapaG wrote:Wait ... what? Projection? Unless BB&G, you were doing that. Then I take back what I just said..

I've got nothing against you, man. I wouldn't just start making personal attacks. Not even using silly, PC-invented names like "homophobic."PapaG wrote:Got it.
