Best Top 25 Win: No. 5 Montana 37, No. 20 Portland State 16

In a year without a dominant team, I-AA teams from around the country will need to take notice of an improving Montana squad that is now in good shape for a seed if it wins out. The Grizzlies lost to Eastern Washington two weeks ago, then beat Cal Poly last week and cruised to an impressive, 37-16, win against a very good Portland State team. The Grizzlies jumped out to a 14-0 first-quarter lead behind a Lex Hilliard touchdown run and a punt return for a score by Tuff Harris. Montana extended the advantage to 24-3 by halftime, and held a 27-3 lead going in to the fourth quarter. The Vikings had scored 89 points in their last two contests, but the Montana defense held strong when it counted. The win puts Montana in great shape for a playoff berth, and means the Grizzlies can essentially lock up a playoff spot before making the trip to Bozeman to end the season.
