and the geniuses in charge of the Montana CBS stations seem to think that more people in Montana care about the Alabama/Ole Miss game than UM/EWU.

The "best defense in the Big Sky" is a dropped pass away from giving up 27 first half points.

Bergquist is NOT for real.

Eagle D doing a nice job containing Lex.

Griz are going down in flames in the first half...

The Griz are not for real. Idaho St. is not for real.

We will find out in about 6 hours whether or not the Cats are for real.

Eastern Washington is the team to beat.

Right on the money. The griz and ISU are decent teams who can beat anyone at home if they get a couple breaks to go their way, but they are not great teams by any stretch of the imagination. The griz are far better than ISU because they have much more depth, and a better defense. Eastern Washington is definitely for real. They have put it to the griz with a nice mix of run and pass, and their defense has pretty much stuffed everything the anemic grizzly offense has tried to do. They had a little hiccup at ISU, but they are definitely back on track. If we played EWU right now, I don't know how we'd beat them.

You are right about us, we will find out what the Cats are made of in a few hours. Let's hope they seize the opportunity to take sole possession of first place!

I have tried to stay busy today to make the day go faster so this is the first time I checked in on the friz score. What a shame. I hope the second 1/2 is more of the same.

They still have almost two quarters to play and as all of us Cat fans know, anything can happen with time still on the clock. (Although I'm really hoping it won't)

Meyer picked inside the ten.

How many friggin' times is Jeremy "Tool" Jorgenson going to mention what a "beautiful, perfect day" it is in Missoula?! Geez Jeremy, come up with some new adjectives.

Big turnovers from both teams. Now lets see if Eastern responds!

Gotta give the griz credit, they are hanging tough. 27-20 with about 7:00 to play. The things that stadium does to other teams...

And that is that. EWU looks scary right now. How in hell did ISU beat them? Losing at home is a big loss for the griz in the conference.

I'll never lament a griz loss, but realistically, it probably would have been better for us to have them beat EWU.

That EWU offense is absoutely terrifying. Maybe the way to beat them is let them get a lead on you and hope they go conservative?

I was impressed with what the Eagle did on their last drive-they didn't try to run it up the gut and run clock-they went for another score. If they gave the griz the ball with only a touchdown lead they would have been in trouble. I see so many teams play "not to lose" these days-it's just refreshing to see a team take a chance and go for the throat! (Of course that's what McBride was trying to do against us last week-but it backfired).

EWU's defense looks like the bend but don't break kind like us-except their pass rush is a lot better.

34 - 20 and the stats will show it wasn't even that close. A 14 point win at WaGriz is a BLOWOUT anywhere else.

Eastern is officially SCARY. Looks like they are hitting their stride.

The Griz? A decent team that can't stop a good passing attack. An offense that MUST run the ball to be successful. They'd best get their sh!t together in a hurry with Poly coming to town; thanks to this loss, they CANNOT afford to lose to the Mustangs or they'll have to win out to make the playoffs.

want to see a head coach play "not to lose"? Pick up a game film of Hauck's Griz games versus NDSU, Cal Poly, ISU, N. Colorado, Maine, or Hofstra the past couple of years. You'll get a full dose of it!
