That would have been one helluva conference and I'd love it, but unfortunately, anything resembling that ship has sailed.
The Big Sky, is still going to have the opportunity in the next few years to add to "lead" universities with state-wide fan bases in North Dakota and South Dakota. Will they do it? I doubt it.
Alot people, when they talk potential expansion for the BSC, bring up the idea of having two divisions. I think it would be ideal if the Big Sky added UND and USD to bring them to 11, and then simply played an 8 game schedule, like the way the Big 10 is set up. Each team would rotate two opponents in and out every year. An 11-team Big Sky could even pursue Denver University (Fullerton covets them) to make for a 12 team basketball league.
Pie in the sky I know, but I think that's the best chance for the Big Sky to make a name for itself again.

Denver University...another school that NO ONE, in their OWN CITY, gives a rip about! Typical Douggie for ya!
This other scenario would have made for one of the top conference in the country, hands down!

Such a sexy conference.

I would kill to have the BSC look like that. I can't even imagine what kind of national recognition that conference would get each week.

bincity, I respect UND and they are having a great year again. I am wondering what do you mean by "lead" universities?

"Lead" universities....essentially meaning the largest (and non-directional)schools in the state, such as UM, MSU, UND, NDSU, whereas NAU, EWU, PSU, Sac State are not.

NDSU just took out Minnesota. That is two FBS wins for them this year. I think they are clearly the best team in the FCS right now. It's really too bad we wont see them in the playoffs.
