Woodhead takes Harlon Hill Trophy
Florence, AL (Sports Network) - Chadron State running back Danny Woodhead took home the Harlon Hill Trophy on Friday as the nation's top player in Division II.

Woodhead, a junior from North Platte, Nebraska, received 187 total points in the voting and held a huge 87-point lead over the second-place finisher, Grand Valley State quarterback Cullen Finnerty.

Woodhead set a single-season rushing mark with 2,756 yards and scored 38 touchdowns. He also led Division II in scoring (17.5 points) and all-purpose yards (250) to help Chadron to an undefeated season and the quarterfinals of the playoffs.

Woodhead is the first running back to win the Hill Trophy since Emporia State's Brian Shay in 1998.

The award winner is determined in voting by the Division II sports information directors.

Well deserved, doesn't surprise me. How did the Huskers miss that guy.
