The weather was perfect for Montana State's first scrimmage, but as expected not everything else was. The Bobcats running backs struggled running the ball and had a few misguided plays, but there were some bright spots.

"First day in pads and first time we've actually scrimmaged first day in pads," Dakota Prukop, who is one of three quarterbacks vying for the starting spot, said in explaining some of the sluggishness. "We wanted to see what some of the freshmen could do."
