Re: Bobcat Insider Podcasts
I thought there was some revealing information about the playoff selections (around the 20:00 mark) especially concerning the NAU pick.

Re: Bobcat Insider Podcasts
What a great listen, two big things jump out at me.
1.) Colter has been around Chris Murray as much as anyone (outside of the coaching staff) and he mentions that it was not laziness or lack of effort in the classroom that caused Chris's situation. So maybe some of the critical/harsh posters can lighten up a bit on the kid.
2.) I got goosebumps when they talked about Bryce Sterk at around the 25-minute mark!

Great stuff. I really believe that our best chance to make a big gain as a team is defense and special teams. I think a QB with similar overall productivity, but greater predictability will also move this team forward. Bailey could be a definite difference-maker. The defense is deeper and better overall. That (Qb leadership, defense, special teams) is the best formula for winning.

Colter and Jay are a great radio combo. That 30 minutes flew by.
As they were alluding to, its better to have a great defense than a high-flying, quick-hitting offense. MSU could be very good on defense.

MSU - 15 team National Champions (most recent 2021); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

My sentiments exactly about Colter and Jay - they have so much energy together. Also on defense, i have been trying not to quantify with bold predictions, but its entirely possible we hold teams to 17-20 points and under this year.

Was he the head AD at South Dakota State? For some reason I was thinking he was just the assistant.

You are correct, he was deputy director.Long Time Cat wrote: ↑Sat Jul 28, 2018 8:48 amWas he the head AD at South Dakota State? For some reason I was thinking he was just the assistant.
In his role as a deputy director at South Dakota State University, Costello oversees the day-to-day operations of the athletic department and directs the implementation of the five-year strategic plan. To date, he has worked on all facets of the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex and Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium; including planning, design, fundraising and premium seating sales. He has been at South Dakota State since 2010 and was promoted to deputy director in July 2014

Re: Bobcat Insider Podcasts
Thanks for the info. I would think that much of the fundraising would need to be done by the head guy but it sounds like he still had a lot to do with the new stadium at SDSU. I hope it translates into success here.91catAlum wrote: ↑Sat Jul 28, 2018 6:41 pmYou are correct, he was deputy director.Long Time Cat wrote: ↑Sat Jul 28, 2018 8:48 amWas he the head AD at South Dakota State?
