Sac State Ladies Light up NAU

Post by 84CatGrad » Fri Feb 16, 2024 8:56 am

NAU women were 18-6, 10-1 ahead of last night's game against Sac (4-19, 3-9) in Flagstaff. NAU had won seven straight. So naturally NAU...............lost by 16? SAC outrebounded NAU 51-37, and shot 49%.

What happened?

Sac State has also won 4 of their last 5 games. Look out for them the rest of the season.

While registering my vehicles the assessor stated "I have had both Cat and Griz students and alums work for me and the Griz end up working under the direction of the Cats."

It looks like NAU was playing without Emily Rodabaugh last night, but that's still a very surprising result especially considering the margin of victory. Brings back some bad memories of 2002 or 2003 when MSU lost on Senior Night at home against a winless Sac State team. That game cost MSU the outright regular season championship, Weber State won the tiebreaker to host the Big Sky Tournament and then beat MSU in the championship game.

Sac's point guard kept penetrating and making shots at the rim. Also they shot a tremendous percentage from 3. NAU made runs but Sav held them off. They are very good around the rim offensively and defensively. They hel Glancy way below her average.

They are very good around the rim offensively and defensively. They held Glancy way below her average. They built a wall around her and still got to the outside shooters except Beattie she had like 15 points from 3. Sac actually looked at the basket and SHOT the ball when they drove inside. Our girls ought to take a lesson from them and Glancy!

I remember that night all too well. Started five seniors instead of all five starters, spotted them a lead, and never could catch up. Sac State had lost 44 Big Sky games in a row at that point. That might have been their very first win.
