MSU vs Utah State
Since no one has yet to even start a game thread should say a lot about Bobcat hoops. If anyone cares, MSU is down 16 to Utah State at half. Looking pretty disjointed, not much offensive flow. Don't know where they're at for the half break, but were shooting about 28 percent at one point.
Game's on Pluto.

It ain’t getting any better. Utah State has a kid that had 23 points in the first half. 20 point lead now. Tough to watch

It's really hard to watch. I can see why the crowd is sparse, at best.

Nice 30 point blowout to open the season at home. Not encouraging, though it is the first game of the year.

Blowout loss at home to what is predicted to be a bad Mountain West team. The talent gap between the two teams was huge. Look what's coming up. Teams from the Big 10, SEC, another Mountain West, and Pac 12-all on the road. Whoever set this schedule up didn't give Fish a chance to have a winning season.
Indiana on Friday. Not gonna be pretty. IU should be an order of magnitude better than Utah State.

Re: MSU vs Utah State
There seemed to be an order of magnitude difference in talent and performance between Utah State and MSU. Bobcats looked slow and disinterested. Not much fire there.BelgradeBobcat wrote: ↑Tue Nov 06, 2018 10:34 pmBlowout loss at home to what is predicted to be a bad Mountain West team. The talent gap between the two teams was huge. Empty stands and a blowout loss at home tells you everything you need to know about the state of men’s hoops right now. I thought it couldn’t get much worse than Huse. It did...

Re: MSU vs Utah State
More than one player said the effort was not there. What? First game and at home and no effort? That is a coaching problem. Also, so much for adding all that height. No rebounds.

Re: MSU vs Utah State
Not that it would have mattered in this one, but Fish's experiment with moving Frey to the 2 has to end. Frey is a pure point guard. He's one of the best point guards in the Big Sky. He's not one of the best 2 guards in the Big Sky-not even close. Frey needs to be the 1, Hall the 2, Blevins the 3, and Nuemann the 4. Blevins at the 4 doesn't work either. Didn't work against UM Western and even worse against USU. Play guys at their natural positions and see what happens.

Picked up right where we left off last year.

FYI, BB programs schedule their own preseason games. Fish has final say on all of these games outside of conference.

Re: MSU vs Utah State
yep. and from what I can tell, even many big time msu athletic supporters are just indifferent. many are beyond the point of even being upset because it's all we've known forever. msu athletics does a great job in so many areas, however it's very clear they just aren't concerned with the direction of mens hoops. we've been awful forever and to make it sting a little worse the griz have been dominant forever.
until someone on the department or the prez says we won't settle for this crap anymore....what's the point in being upset as fans? we are what we are. we're coached how we're coached.

Re: MSU vs Utah State
Just so happens I will be in Indianapolis Thursday so am planning to go see Bobcats-Hoosier Friday. Likely be at least a 50-point loss but who cares? I get to see Assembly Hall.
