I watcher her at the HIT. The AA girls weren't very good up there but her athleticism and competitiveness showed for sure.

Great pickup for the Cats.
Tremendous all-around athlete, and a great kid.

I think this is a great pick up! I love hustle players who also bring talent and athleticism to the table. We needed another guard or two on the roster and this is the type of player who can be an outstanding player for us down the line. Plus when her Helena High teammate decides to transfer from UM she may have a place to land!

Great pickup for the program. Binford and Co. may have a window of opportunity to really flip the rivalry as that other team is losing a lot of really good players lately. I think our team is going to be really, really good going forward.

Hasn’t MSU won 5 outta last 8 or 6 outta 9? Two of last 3 BSC titles, while UM has none.

MSU - 15 team National Champions (most recent 2021); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

I’ve seen her play many times. Her defense and ball-handling really set her apart. Defensively she tends to reach too much, especially when pressing, and she gets in foul trouble. Her shooting was weak (FT% 48%; 3s 26%), but she improved on that late last season 20-35 FTs; 12-24 3s). There’s always a spot for clutch players who are scrapping after loose balls, defend and take care of the ball.

I’m sure you meant that tongue-in-cheek, but to be clear Pickens won’t be transferring to MSU. She’s a die-hard Griz fan and has been friends with the Schweyen’s for some time. She’s a big time player and could play for anyone. The only knock on Pickens is she doesn’t play well in big games. Nearly fouled out of 2017 title game. In games vs Sentinel and Capital she hit just 31% from floor and averaged 11.7 ppg. Well below her season averages.

That was not the only thing wrong with what I posted Pickens is a junior so actually has not signed with the Griz (thank you to the folks at EGRIZ for correcting me on that) so as Lloyd Christmas would say "Weeee still have a chance"

BTW don't count anything out, there is some weird sh*t going on with the Lady Griz right now and anything is possible!

Cronyism and nepotism. That said don’t expect Pickens to bail.
