Shann is a psychologist. He earned his doctorate and is now licensed in Washington I believe. He is a Dr. and author. He worked NBC basketball camps with Fred Crowell his father in law for awhile but then moved on. Great Bobcat Alumni and person. He is a professor of Leadership at Gonzaga. Google him for more details.

Re: Whats Shann Ferch up to nowadays?
My nephew played some pickup hoops with him while he was going to school at Gonzaga, and said he's still got pretty good game. I believe he also took some classes from Shann, because he was a Psych major. This piece says that he only went to MSU for two years...Is that really accurate? I don't know whether or not he redshirted, but I was thinking he played at MSU through his junior year. I certainly could be wrong about that though.33MONTEBOSTON33 wrote:Shann is a psychologist. I really loved to watch the Ferch bros run the floor. Nothing like playing with someone for 16+ years to make for some exciting finishes.

Left MSU after his sophomore season when Kral graduated and played at Pepperdine. I don't know why, but I was sad. Unbelievable player.John K wrote:This piece says that he only went to MSU for two years...Is that really accurate? Because Shann shot us out of the opening BSC playoff game in Flagstaff. I was there. The dude cost us the game. Stu told him he needed to start playing team ball the next season. Shann didn't like that and picked up his stuff and transferred. Tom Ferch was right there helping his kid to leave. How dare Stu try to hold his kid back from shooting any damn shot he wanted.

Liked watching both of the Ferch Bros. I believe Karl was the better of the two.

Whats Shann Ferch up to nowadays?
Thanks!!!
That’s crazy. At the height of his jump his head appears only a couple inches below the basket.
Wonder if Shelton caught crap from his team about letting a lil Montanan dunk on him.
Lol

Re: Whats Shann Ferch up to nowadays?
His dad Tom used to work out in the weight room in Brick Breeden and play pick-up ball in Shroyer. I used to talk to him a bunch because of relatives of mine he knew in Livingston. If you look up "Free Spirit" in a dictionary, I think you'd find a picture of Tom in the definition. I remember when Shann left MSU for Pepperdine when I was in high school and didn't understand why because those Bobcat teams were good in the mid-to-late 80s.mslacat wrote:Here is an interesting article about the former Bobcat basketball who is now an author!

After meeting his dad, Shann's move to the beaches of Malibu made perfect sense to me. Tom wasn't real big on "rules," per se.

Kral still holds the class A high jump state record at 6' 10" from 1983...
I believe his one foot running vertical was 44 inches. Shann had a good vertical too, but not like Kral.

He'd get one from a bigger school since he'd be known about by everyone. This isn't 35 years ago.77matcat wrote:So, if there was a Mt high school player with that kind of athleticism would he get a scholarship from us??
