Ok so maybe I am alittle to excited for football season, but what the hell. The start of football is right up there with Christmas. So I thought this was acceptable. So grab your milk and cookies and get ready to kick some ass.
Twas the Night Before Football
Twas the night before Football, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse,
The draft board were hung by the bar light with care,
In hopes that Shaun Alexander would still be there.
The team was nestled all snug in their bed,
While visions of cover two defenses danced in their heads,
With Kramer in his M-Frames, and me in my cap,
We Had just settled our brains for a long second half...
When up on the plasma there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the barka to see what was the matter.
Away to the television I flew like a flash,
Evin Groves had shuttered and went on an 80 yard dash.
The Boom of the cannon about the newly lit score
Let me know that of a loss was no more,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But Brandon Hoffenbacker, and a 3-4 nightmare,
With a receiver core, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be Rolovich.
More rapid than grizzlies the defense they came,
The ref whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:
"Now, buffs! now, Eagles! now Aggies and Jacks!
On, Vikes! on Bengals! on, Bears* and Wildcats!
To the top of the Standings! to the top of the League!
Now dash away! dash away! W’s for fall!"
As once again it time for the Brawl in the Wild.
