A little info on tomorrows scrimmage.
BOZEMAN, Mont. -- Mike Kramer would throw it all day if he could,
but instead will probably settle for a fairly even mix of passing and
running plays during Wednesday's Sonny Holland Scrimmage. Wednesday's
intra-squad affair begins at 5 pm in Bobcats Stadium, and wraps up spring
drills for the Bobcats.
"We'll free-form it in the scrimmage (Wednesday)," Kramer said, "but
we need to spend a lot of time on passing. It would be easy to throw it all
day just to see where (quarterbacks Cory Carpenter and Jack Rolovich) are
right now, but we'll take situations as they present themselves."
Kramer plans a 96-play scrimmage segmented into four quarters,
featuring an awards ceremony at halftime. Kramer will dole out the spring
awards and announce the team's 2006 captains at that point.
The day's featured event, though, stands as a game-like scrimmage.
"We'll take a look at a lot of different situations," Kramer said.
Carpenter and Rolovich take center stage, and Kramer said both have
made strides during the spring. "The quarterbacks are getting better with
every single rep," Kramer said. "They're becoming more consistent and really
making improvements. Those guys have had a good spring."
MSU's final scrimmage is free and open to the public.
