Re: FCS Polls (10/14) MSU #12
I’ve felt we belong in the 10-15 range based on our play all year with the chance to improve and become a top ten team. Right now this is where we belong until we prove we can put a full 4 quarters together over multiple games

looks pretty accurate to me. The only thing I would change is that I would put Sac State in the top 10. They are a very good team, top to bottom.
Really curious to see what happens with their game against the griz, that's a big game.

Sac State is legitimately a contender to win the conference. They are good and are better than MSU. Are voters watching them?mslacatfan wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2019 11:57 amlooks pretty accurate to me. Obviously they are, since they took a pretty good jump after beating MSU.PapaG wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2019 12:05 pmSac State is legitimately a contender to win the conference. Re: FCS Polls (10/14) MSU #12
No. Many of the voters in these polls do not follow all the teams closely. If they did SAC would be ranked ahead of MSU. That example isn’t a first. I knew before it came out that MSU would still be ahead. It’s just another example of how utterly meaningless these polls are.cats2506 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2019 12:27 pmObviously they are, since they took a pretty good jump after beating MSU.PapaG wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2019 12:05 pmSac State is legitimately a contender to win the conference. MSU - 15 team National Champions (most recent 2021); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Re: FCS Polls (10/14) MSU #12
You are thinking of a power poll, which resets each week, most polls whether coaches or sports writers don't reset each week, each week builds on previous weeks results. I think another example that follows your line is SELA was ranked below JSU for several weeks, however SELA has now dropped 2 games in a row and has dropped out of the poll, meanwhile JSU has won more games and is still on the poll. I think these types of polls give a better consensus of a whole body of a teams work, while a power poll gives a snapshot of where things are currently.TomCat88 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2019 1:12 pmNo. Many of the voters in these polls do not follow all the teams closely. Sac has plenty of opportunity to move up, all they have to do is keep winning.

Depending on which poll you look at, BSC has between 5-7 teams in top 25. Now start beating other conferences consistently.
