I had no idea Jackson State drew so well. I thought this was a typo so I looked it up. In 1997 Jackson State (in Jackson, MS) averaged 38,000+ fans a game and outdrew Mississippi State and Ole Miss that year. That's not bad for a team that has never won an FCS playoff game.

Must be some outlier for Jackson State to rate so high this year. They were averaging less than 14,000 in 2017:

Look at a list of all the Jackson State NFL players. I don't think they want to waste all their athletic department's money on the playoffs in lieu of their bowl game. That Battle of the Bands show is impressive.

Jackson State has a total enrollment of around 10,000. Jackson MI has 170,000 residents in the city, county totals 260,000. They play in Jackson's Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium, 63,450.

I expect the Cats to be a Top 5 draw next year. The momentum is nice to have...

A worthy goal that is possible, but not probable. Bobcat Stadium listed capacity is 17,777, so a "packed house" for each home game would not make the top five. The record crowd is listed at 21,527. Cats will need to average around 19,000 per game to make the top five, so it is possible with overflow crowds. There are other factors, like a couple above drop down.......or some one(s) below us move up or..........

Average attendance in 2015 was 19,172. We always get a little bump when we host Cat-Griz game.

Attendance always includes every fan that has a season ticket, whether they attend or not, correct?

No - the NCAA says that the institution determines the method of computing attendance (except for playoff games).
Then can include/exclude free tickets, bands, actual gate or sold tickets.

But for total attendance, 1 NDSU (ten games), 2 Montana, 3 James Madison, and 4 Montana State (115,299 in 7 games). That pays the bills.

Will our high preseason rankings help season ticket sales? We win 2 of the first 3 and I think it’s SRO for the rest of the year!
