Sam Mills was 5’9 just saying it can be played at that height.

Sam Mills was an outlier that played 20 some years ago.Buckaroo Bonzi wrote: ↑Sun Jan 13, 2019 8:35 pmSam Mills was 5’9 just saying it can be played at that height.
But yes, like I said, it can happen. But it's very, very, difficult. Can't see over the LOS to see what's going on.

Re: Transfer: Seth Schneider
You would have to be very short not to see over the down linemen. Once the play starts, nobody can see over the top. I would think that it is mostly a mass problem.bobcat99 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 14, 2019 8:27 amSam Mills was an outlier that played 20 some years ago.Buckaroo Bonzi wrote: ↑Sun Jan 13, 2019 8:35 pmSam Mills was 5’9 just saying it can be played at that height.

Because I'm a Cowboys fan these are easy for me to note, but LB's Dexter Coakley and Dat Nguyen were both around 5'10". Both regarded as fantastic linebackers for Dallas and had great careers in the NFL.
Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

Who was that LB from NAU about ten years ago? He was all Big Sky two years in a row at about 5-10.

He's shorter than Brad, but not sure how much. I'd say he's 5'11"

The guy looks solid. Start him off as a kick return gunner, you can always use more aces on the special teams, and then see if he can crack the 2 deep in the linebacker camp. Welcome to the Bobcats Seth!

Didn’t Choate say that it was already looking like they were going to have to make cuts come fall ball to get to the 104? Just seems like if a team is already over, you are taking a huge gamble on if you make it or not. Hope he is better than a handful of the other kids already here.

Remember, Chapman was just forced to retire. Don't recall if he was a Will, Mike or Sam and don't know what Schneider projects as (Will maybe?), but it is a position of need. LB play wasn't great in 2018 and lack of depth was a contributing factor.
Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

Re: Transfer: Seth Schneider
I would look at him more at RB than LB initially. He excels running behind a power-running scheme which MSU employs. At LB, his lack of length will be a disadvantage to him but the kid has a nose for the ball. Let him compete and see how it all plays out. He is also still young so lets just make sure he can crack the roster after this spring. Getting reps on special teams as a true freshman at Idaho tells me he has a pretty good shot.grizzh8r wrote: ↑Wed Jan 16, 2019 12:18 pmWell, if Vim says so, that's good enough for me!VimSince03 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 15, 2019 5:36 pmHe is.GoCats18 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 15, 2019 5:29 pmDidn’t Choate say that it was already looking like they were going to have to make cuts come fall ball to get to the 104? I think it is silly to think someone can prosper on both sides of the ball. When has that ever worked?VimSince03 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 16, 2019 12:44 pmI would look at him more at RB than LB initially. Feel like we're pretty deep at RB? In fact I feel like we may have too many ball carriers on the roster. I might have missed that some of these guys are no longer on the roster but potential RBs that come to mind are:VimSince03 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 16, 2019 12:44 pmI would look at him more at RB than LB initially. Not to mention the FBs on the roster and any incoming Freshmen RBs?
