The next step is competing for the Big Sky Title and getting a first round bye in the playoffs, giving a chance to make a deep run.
To get there we need good players at all positions, but we also need some elite players on the team, all american players.
I took a look at how many all american's we had in the past.
1984 8
2010 3
2011 5
2012 4
2015 3 (but all on offense with a poor defense)
most years have been between 0 and 2
Looks like to take the next step, we need at least 3-4 all american type players, and since most of them are juniors and seniors, we need 2 elite players per class.
Last year North Dakota State and James Madison both had 4 .
Who do we currently have on the team that has a chance to get to this level?

Re: Taking the next step
I think that if Sterk can take the next step he could be. I am also a big fan of D Marks. I think that he has been a little under appreciated here and I expect really big things from him this coming year. I don't know if it will be all american though. I also think that Konkol and Andersen could be. On offence Ifanse. I think that we need and all american type QB. Really to take the next step we have to have an upper tear QB. Maybe not all american but at least all conference.

Re: Taking the next step
Interesting question. I think these guys clearly have first team Big Sky all conference potential, giving them looks as a potential All American.
Konkol
Josh Hill
Sterk
Troy Andersen
Isiah Ifanse
Guys with a shot at all conference mention:
James Williams
Kassis
Padmos
Bailey
Logan Jones
Konkol
Josh Hill
Sterk
Troy Andersen
Isiah Ifanse
Guys with a shot at all conference mention:

I believe Jahque Alleyn has the potential.

Re: Taking the next step
Your right he has the potential to step up and hit the player coming his way.
If your left, you aren’t right.

Re: Taking the next step
I agree on Marks, he has been solid if not great since his true Freshman year. I’m not sure if it is him being under appreciated or more Fa’anono stellar play overshadowing him. Either way i’m excited to see what Derek can do next year.95bcfb wrote: ↑Fri Dec 07, 2018 7:06 pmI think that if Sterk can take the next step he could be. I am also a big fan of D Marks.
