Losing PLayers
It has been reported this morning that two incoming freshman showed up on campus and then left the program. Is it my imagination but is there any other program in the conference that loses as many players as the Bobcats do during the off and pre season! To me it almost sounds like a revolving door every week of this player leaving and a new player coming in over and over. Who knows maybe I am too close to the Bobcats that I notice when there players leave and don't when other teams do, but living in Missoula it certainly does not seem they lose player as fast as the Bobcats.

Happens literally every year. When you have a 95 man roster year to year, players come and go. A coach can't control a kid from being homesick, especially incoming freshman.

Oh I agree player leave on every team and when you have 95 roster spots you will have more defection, but my question is is the Bobcats rate of losing players preety average, high or low?VimSince03 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 02, 2018 3:15 pmHappens literally every year. I would say average based off what I've seen from Big Sky schools since starting to follow recruiting in 2013.mslacat wrote: ↑Thu Aug 02, 2018 3:38 pmOh I agree player leave on every team and when you have 95 roster spots you will have more defection, but my question is is the Bobcats rate of losing players preety average, high or low?VimSince03 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 02, 2018 3:15 pmHappens literally every year. Yeah the only program losing more may be Missoula. In today's society there is more corruption with young men and they make mistakes, figuring to move on to greener pastures. A lot of the kids who scholarship ride the bench to get an education- not a bad tradeoff but it sucks not to get playing time. Back in the day the had the Bobkittens frosh team. Too bad about Josh Hill- football is a hurtin game

When I played for the Cats; we had a freshman player literally sneak out of the dorms in the middle of the night! The coaches didn't know until the next morning when his room mate told them he grabbed his stuff and left.

That's funny. Reminds me of a story my best friend told me. My friends son went to the Virginia Military Institute (VMI). VMI is a state sponsored school, just like MSU is, but obviously has a military side to it, much like the academies do. The students do march in parades every week, wear uniforms to class, and live a very regimented life. There is no service commitment for a student attending VMI, they can just graduate and move on in life. Well, one day the cadets came out for their weekly parade and one of the students broke ranks, and just took off at a sprint. He ran to a waiting car, jumped in, and took off. Really unnecessary since all he had to do was say he was quitting and walk out the gate. Who knows what is going through the minds of these young men. Stress can do weird things to people.

He's injured and might need surgery that will keep him out this season.stevo wrote: ↑Fri Aug 10, 2018 10:12 amDid I miss something about Josh hill?six--man wrote: ↑Tue Aug 07, 2018 12:31 pmYeah the only program losing more may be Missoula. I sure hope they can get Putney on the team this fall! If it is academic issues and he can't get play this year hopefully he would still stick with MSU and have it all in order by next year.

Re: Losing PLayers
You’re embarrassing. I saw you and quite a few others bashing Dax Solis for merely quitting the team. Comparing Griz football to the Army. A bunch of sick dogs you all are. What a pathetic existence you have.

Sorry if I missed it elsewhere on this board but what happened to Elu Leota? He is not on the roster.
