Reminded me of Dick Butkus highlights. The person who posted this on Twitter, Jahmon McClendon, ran for 8 tds and nearly 400 yards in the section championship game. Could he be a future addition? Is Blake related to Bill Schmidt who started on OL on 84 champions?

What a great comparison. Now that you say that he totally reminds me of Butkus in the way he stands up at the line and the way he crashes through and tackles and throws guys to the ground.

According to Twitter, Jahmon McClendon is verbally committed to San Diego State.

Looks like Blake is a 3-sport athlete who excels in wrestling and track & field as well. He placed 3rd in the San Diego Section Masters Tournament wrestling in the 285 weight class (not sure how California does their State Wrestling tournament, but it looked like this tournament was the last one before state) and is currently ranked as the 36th best wrestler in the state at 285, covering a state that has 27,000 wrestlers from 900 programs. He was also the Valley League Shot Put Champion this year.

Honestly i don’t think it will be a couple years, unless something happens or other guys really shine. He is already as big as the d ends we have and looks to be just as quick. I guess time will tell.

Well someone needs to spill the beans, or will be announced on Thursday night game? And I wish the got the school colors correct. Everyone knows it's white and green.

Sounds good, but I can’t see any new facilities up and running by this time next year. Ground broken maybe and construction started, but not finished. I’ll certainly take the latter though. I continue to contribute money every month to the cause.

Blake has a brother, Logan, that sounds like a player to watch.

Pretty impressive that it was between MSU and Navy for his final choices. Says a lot for the quality of academics that we offer these kids. In my opinion, our coaches really have a good pulse on the recruiting process. I also think that only taking a visit to MSU says a lot in how he was treated by players and staff. I remember when Coach Ash was in charge that the staff put it out there that recruiting strong players was a challange because of our strong academic requirements. It looks like this staff won't be phased by that in fact it looks like they take it as a challange. Great to be a BOBCAT!!

You never know how a recruit is going to pan out on the field as there are so many variables, but whether Blake is a multi-year all-american or a 5 year bench warmer, he will certainly looks to be a guy who is going to be great in the locker room and the classroom.

Why not? They were able to build the new end zone during an off season and had it ready for the season opener (which was a pretty big project).

Because we aren’t talking about football stands. This is a multi-story building with a bunch of interior rooms, painting, plumbing, heating, cooling, electrical work, furniture, etc. Just going off the similar Griz center, we should expect over a year (maybe two) to complete. I’d love for them to finish it in six months, but I doubt they will. I hope I’m wrong.
