Re: Gold Rush Countdown!
Just a FYI for everybody. I am sensing that the countdown this year is going to survive right up until Gold Rush. I hope everybody is clicking on the links and enjoying the stories. So far MSU is doing a great job with this.

This is yesterday's (85). I can't find the tweet, so just a link.

Re: Gold Rush Countdown!
Please help my memory. I think it is from the #85. The years are 1960-1961. Gordie Schlabs for some reason hits my memory bank and I don't know why. Been bugging me for several days.
Thanks.
Thanks.

What's your question? He wore 85 and played center 60-61.

Well, this question is where did he go after MONTANA STATE? Where might be have coached, etc. He was well before my time there but that name is so familiar for some reason. Just very curious. Searching got me nowhere.
Thanks.

Gordie taught and coached at Billings Senior for the majority of his career. Believe he relocated to the Flathead after retiring.RickRund wrote:AFCAT wrote:RickRund wrote:Please help my memory. Well, you didn't ask that question in your original statement, so it was tough to answer what you were looking for. Anyway, from what I can find in some old newspapers, he actually played the 62 season as a senior and then I assume he graduated. There was a Gordie Schlabs that coached at Billing Senior for years, both football and wrestling. I assume it's the same guy.

Re: Gold Rush Countdown!
Are you sure about Billings Senior??
Can’t recall for certain but sounds like the Livingston Wrestling coach from the early 70s.

He may have coached in Livingston too, but he definitely coached in Billings. This is a clipping from 1984 but I found many others.

Re: Gold Rush Countdown!
So wish I could remember more but if he coached in Livingston, Park High, that is where I knew him... Knew there had to be a logical answer.
