Triangle Classic

Post by GoCats18 » Tue Feb 27, 2018 7:21 pm

Anyone have any info or has there been any talk about the classic? I have heard word that there is a chance they aren’t going to do it anymore. Any truth to this?

Is there a reason there is no scrimmage this year?

There is. April 2nd. Where are you getting your information from? Probably should update that source.

I think what the question being asked is "Is there no scrimmage at the Triangle Classic as in previous years?" Doesn't look like it.

They aren't calling it a scrimmage but the team will conduct a practice on Saturday at Memorial Stadium. I believe it will be no contact and mostly 7 on 7 drills and that sort of thing.

Yep, 7 on 7. Coach said it at his spring presser. No reason to take a chance on someone getting hurt.

I know this was posted somewhere else but here's the schedule

Scrimmage on April 7th, and it does show a practice for April 14th, which is the Saturday of the Triangle Classic

Well, that will give Friz Nation a week or two of heartburn. Prepare for the trolls hitting here soon.

TRIANGLE CLASSIC: NFL Hall of Fame DB Rod Woodson

For the 14th straight April, the Montana State football team hosted the Triangle Classic banquet in Great Falls.

This year, NFL Hall of Fame defensive back Rod Woodson served as the keynote speaker.

There was no practice because Memorial Stadium was unavailable. The banquet was again well attended. Woodsen's talk was nothing special though in my opinion. He was ok, but certainly not one of the best speakers we've had.

Who has been some of the better speakers over the years? Just curious, I've never been to one.

Joe Theisman was maybe the best. I also liked Eric Dickerson, Jim Kelly, and Deacon Jones. Dick Butkus was probably the worst with Brent Musberger a close 2nd. Dan Fouts and Ricky Bleier were pretty good too.
