A little more info on uncommited guys based off my list:

#1 Chrishon Dixon - He has been offered by both but I'm just not getting the indication Chrishon wants to go to either school. Holding out hopes for basketball offers as well but I see the Frontier conference as his b-ball ceiling. Anyway, still my #1 player. He is the only player on the list that can take over games. #1 WR and CB on my board.

#2 Garrison Poetzl - Garrison comes from quite the family. I'm not sure "free spirit" is the correct way to categorize the Poetzl's but they love life and the outdoors. Garrison is everything you want in an interior defensive lineman. I feel like UM is the fit for him but he's another one that may go out-of-state.

#5 Alex Johnson - Alex is a versatile defensive football player and what he lacks in natural athleticism/speed he makes up for in tenacity and instincts. He's also a tremendous leader and comes from a great family. His older brother Kendall was a great linebacker two years ago and joined the military instead of continuing his football career. Both schools have show a lot of interest but I'm not sure on the offers. I'm high on Alex because you know exactly what you are getting with him when he is on your team.

#7 Blake Counts - Blake didn't receive offers from UM or MSU post-summer camps and he's received offers from nearly every Frontier conference school. So he's one of those in-between players. Blake will likely have to make a decision on being "the guy" at a NAIA school or a walk-on at UM or MSU. I love his tape but his top-end speed and the fact he doesn't also play defense may hurt his overall prospects going forward. But if you get Blake on your team as a RB, you get a player who excels at nearly every aspect of playing the position. He has great vision, patience, strength, and can get to the edge with some burst.

#8 Alaric Greil - Alaric is an animal at 6'3", 230 lbs. He goes between DE/DT depending on the down and can defend the run better than any player in the state. On offense, he is a punishing blocker as a TE. He's also a tremendous teammate. What I want to see out of Alaric is consistency with his technique and pad level this year. MSU has offered and UM has not...yet. By the end of his senior season, it may be hard for me not to put Alaric in the Top 5.

#9 Trevin Gradney - Trevin received scholarship offers from UM then MSU after his summer camp performances and tremendous junior track season. He has a ton of natural ability playing cornerback and has perfect size/speed for the position. Based off current roster depth, Trevin and Crishon Dixon should be UM's top priorities in the state. I've had consistent chatter from sources telling me he is ranked too low...even at #9.

#10 Anthony Johnson - It has been quiet on the recruitment front for Anthony despite being 6'2", 210 lbs. and the returning AA leader in receiving yards. If you want to develop a physical, outside receiver, Anthony should be your prospect. I have no information on offers or interest and I've heard much more chatter on other bigger receivers in this crop (Thelen, Simpson, Waters, and Trafton).

Alright...that's all for now guys. There are current in-state battles going on with several other players not listed above. It has been an interesting in-state recruiting year thus far.
Hey Vim, out of curiosity, when do you plan on updating the rankings again? I know you like to do one after track season. Are you going to do one before football season starts or just wait until after? Thanks for doing this. It really helps someone like me keep track of what's going on in state with football and prospects.
The first one comes out the week after signing day. The second one after track season. The third one after summer football camps and a week prior to their senior season. And the final one in January of the next year.

His dad Joe, played for the Cats. I've followed his son by all the posts Joe has been putting up on facebook. I'd love to see his son playing for the Cats. Kid is a baller.

Former Montana State captain safety and then secondary coach Mikey Rider coached the kid at West last year. Talked to Mikey the other day -said the kid can really play.

Arguably the best team in AA this season. Will duke it out with Billings Senior, Billings West, Bozeman, and Kalispell Flathead. Those are my Top 5 teams and each of them have potential Bobcat recruits/commits.

Info on Brody Grebe (LB) and Chrishon Dixon (WR/DB): https://montanasports.com/high-school/b ... ons-ahead/.

Word is Brody has received a higher offer from the Griz but the Engineering degree may be the deciding factor. Dixon has a partial offer from the Cats and nothing from the Griz...both surprising. Trevin Gradney is being held in higher regard as a CB recruit by both schools.

Grebe is very good friends with Caleb Bellach (it was in one of the articles on Bellach).

Maybe that will play a role?

Friendships always play a role in some fashion.

I would love to see Grebe commit to the Cats. Watching him play basketball in the Class C tourney, in the game against Scobey, he was so much more physical and athletic than what Scobey could do even with Riley Linder and CJ Nelson taking turns on him.

Brody's recruitment has been very similar to Garrett Graves' last year. His athletic profile is also very similar: Class B/C kid, multi-sport talent, similar size, excels at everything, position flexibility, wants to be an engineer. MSU couldn't beat out UM for Garrett last year. Can they land Brody? We shall see.

If he really wants to be an engineer and has FCS talent, there's really no other in-state option, is there?! :-k

Have been told he has a higher offer from the Griz. But he is also still considering going the basketball route regardless of level and Montana Tech would be a fit.

If the Cats equal the Griz offer, he is likely a Bobcat...if he decides to play football.
