Well about half their coaching staff at OSU coached or played at MSU or UM.
We better get a few quality transfers or recruiting referrals out of this connection next fall.

Hard to believe there would be "QUALITY" transfers coming off a team that has won just 12 games in the last four years. Their only win last year was 35-32 over Portland State in Corvallis.

They may have a couple that want to go to a winning program.

I would think there would be a lot. They had the talent when they were recruited.

Apologies if this was already posted, but Denarious moving to LB's coach and Cole taking over QB's.

Denarius is coaching RBs...not LBs.

Most often I do my post and move on, but this Oregon State thing is both unusual and interesting, so I'm back for more.
OSU is now on their 4th coach in 5 years. Gary Andersen (once HC at S Utah) replaced Mike Riley when Riley headed for Nebraska. Andersen (and you can read the interviews) became very unhappy with his and his assistants coaching results mid-way through his second season and resigned. For starters, he was very vocal about having hired a poor and under preforming staff and said if he couldn't fix it he would take drastic measures. He said Beaver Nation deserved more, and when things didn't improve he resigned before the end of the season. Among the reasons stated was the crappy job they did recruiting and it would take an enormous effort to overcome that. So Cory Hall moved in as "interm", stayed in 2017 and then dismissed. In 2018 comes Jonathan Smith and the new staff.
Clearly I am not in a position to dispute Andersen about anything...but I took a look at the OSU roster. There are some real studs from outstanding high school programs around the west. Last year they went 1-11 and prior to that 4-8, 2-10, 5-7 so they do appear to be broken. But now, in spite of the evidence as expressed by Andersen and results on the field, I find myself tending to agree with Montanabob and allcat. I don't know if they have a "lot of talent"....but there are some guys I would love to see come to Bozeman. Plus, if I remember right, I think the Cats open with OSU in '19 or '20. I don't want to create any bad Karma 8-[

We will have a breakdown of Montana State's defense sometime in the next week if I can ever get caught up on basketball. Enjoy!

No news and there’s more posts from Bots than Cat fans. This is becoming BotcatNation.com. Is anyone monitoring this website?

With the new morning practice format, everyone had to go to school right away, so interviews are scheduled during the week. Talking to Troy Andersen, Michael Jobman, Jacob Hadley and Bryce Sterk today. We will have stories on position changes, new additions and Jeff Choate’s belief that no one is “dipping their toes in the water anymore. Everyone is all in.”

I will also be at Saturday’s practice so we will have an estimated depth chart and more detailed personnel reports as well this weekend.
